That looks good for a stock cooler.

Ebuyer have been pretty decent IMHO although YMMV. However on Scan the next highest up Asus 780G motherboard costs over £70!! At that price you can get a 790GX motherboard so it is a tad overpriced!!

Re: New system time. It's been a while...

Wow that does look good for a stock cooler How big is the fan? 80mm x 15mm?

Oh and the motherboard should come with 2 sata cables (well 2 is pritty standard)

you may want to consider the Sliverstone TJ08 if you're going for an mATX motherboard
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silve...silver-w-o-PSU
    also comes in black

I've not yet had any problems with Ebuyer
Here's the ebuyer asus M3A78-EM link
    http://www.ebuyer.com/product/150278...oduct_overview

one final word of warning, quite a few motherboards only have 1 keyboard/mouse socket on them now, so you may need to get a new USB keyboard or mouse

Re: New system time. It's been a while...

My asus board only had one PS2.

Yeah the fan is pretty low profile and around 80mm, maybe 70mm.

Haven't checked how loud it is yet but it's very nice for stock, at least I know I have a worthy spare for either the phenom or X2

Cat: With Hexus free shipping from Scan vs expensive shipping w Ebuyer, it might work out different. I'll do sums...

Re PS2 connectors, mouse is Logitech MX620 cordless laser, keyboard is boring Microsoft, but both are USB so no probs there.

Thanks all for your continued assistance

With Ebuyer you do need to select the "Within 5 Working Days" Option to get free postage. It also does say free postage on the item description BTW. In many occasions they have despatched quicker than that so it is fine!!

Would there be a problem with the M3A78-PRO? Just that it's in stock at Scan. I tried to go to eBuyer, my existing account is dormant and registering a new account means you have to ship to billing address, which I'm not at!

Either that, or I could go back to the Biostar.

Re: New system time. It's been a while...

I would go with the Asus M3A78 PRO. The Biostar has a faster GPU and is crossfire capable which is better if you are playing games but for your purposes the Asus should be fast enough. The Asus has all solid capacitors which means the motherboad should also have a greater lifespan(in theory) than the Biostar.
