    Re: new build advice

Nice system list you got there. I would like to suggest a couple of modifications if u don't mind:

Go for a TRUE Black or a Noctua U12P. Keeps that hot i7 chip cool and allows for some nice overclocking.

Go for the i7 920 D0 stepping - for lower voltage operation and overclocking.

The GTX 275 looks like a great card, if u eventually decide to go SLI, you should be beating a gtx 295.

Sod's law, I actually ordered the CPU the other day as it was about the only component I was sure on, and I saw a good deal (normal OEM version for £220). It's already been passed to Citylink. Hopefully the £30 I saved on that D0 stepping one will be worth the performance hit.

I'll check out the coolers though as the Akasa is out of stock at Scan.

    cheers

TBH when you are buying such a powerful CPU such as the i7 920 it will be good enough at stock speeds let alone overclocked speeds!!

Overclocked to 3ghz to 3.2ghz an i7 will be pretty much fine for a while IMHO.
