Well, I can't be 100% sure, but I can't see it making much of an impact on the temperatures, the PA120.4 should be find for a CPU and GPU.

You might be 2/3c improvement, but there is then added restriction to the loop

Fine, doesn't warrant it then, I am guilty of a bit of overkill every now and then!!

If I was at a future date to go SLI with 2 x 285GTX's and upgrade to an o/c'd I7 (Rather than a heavily oc'd E8400) Would I be able to cool on 1 loop?

    Re: Watercooling pointers

You would be able to cool it on one loop. Wether or not it'd be good is a different story.

The temperatures would be a bit high and I would say adding another radiator would benefit if you went for SLI, although by the time you do get around to it, the new single cards would be about.

That is true - just at the time if another 285GTX is cheap + block compared to resale of 285 with Block and cost of xxxGTX + Block

If only future proofing was possible

    Re: Watercooling pointers

Peter, after looking at lots of internal shots I have to admit that I prefer the look of compression fittings to the barb/jubilee clip. What I can't work out is if the compression fittings are sold in pairs - would you mind just confirming for me if this is for one or two fittings:

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=724

and if I use these I guess I will have to swap to this:

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=790

Are there any disadvantages to using this tubing over the stuff I had ordered :

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...roducts_id=161

    Finally

do you know if you can connect this cooler on both sides (in at the front out at the back) or will I need to use right angle connectors and connect in and out at the top of the card (i hope that makes sense!!!)

Really hope you don't mind all these q's

    Re: Watercooling pointers

    Hi Syd

    I have a i7 overclocked to 4.1Ghz and Sli 280GTX cards (overclocked)
The temperatures I was having was quite high with a 120.3. I then added an extra 120.2 and this has dropped the temperatures down to 48C (idle) & 60C (loaded) on the CPU and 40C (idle) & 55C (loaded) on the GPU's.

As for fitting an extra rad into the system you can always use the extra space in the bottom of the silverstone to fit a 120.2.

As for the rads, the inlet and outlet are on the same side, so these are a good idea.

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...oducts_id=1173

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...oducts_id=1180

or if you have money to burn

    http://www.chilledpc.co.uk/shop/prod...oducts_id=1258

As for the compression fittings, they can leak if not fitted correctly.
The link you have shown is for one fitting. The hose goes over the piece with the screwed end and the ring fits over the top. You then tighten the ring, which squashes the hose.

Sweet. Good luck. The thought of water cooling fills me with a strange kind of dread to be perfectly honest so I'll be interested in your progress.

I did a little bit of w/c before - but it was a pretty straightforward (with instructions!!) Asetek Waterchill setup - single 120mm rad and cpu only. The new rigs a little more ambitious so am thoroughly looking forward to building it over time. I will set up a build log in Chassis modding section and link it so you can have a look at how well/badly I get on
