As for HDD's, these were mentioned http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/320-G...MB-Cache-89-ms, if i format 160gb of that, is it going to give me faster loading times than this current 500gb sammy ?
ATI Tray tools is for the graphics card if the fan is too noisy and you can have custom 2D and 3D clocks too. I underclock my HD4830 in 2D mode and it runs cooler. IIRC you cannot downclock the GDDR5 memory on the HD4890 currently but pushing down the core clocks to the lowest possible does help.

You can get the middle fan out as it seems other people have done this. You may need to disassemble part of you case though to get to it though.

If you are looking at an SSD this 64gb one could be used as a boot drive for the OS only and is not badly priced at £115:

How about just upgrading the Mobo?
Asus crosshair III formula is all you would ever want for fan headers, or go for the GD70 from MSI that's supposed to be epic. No point upgrading CPU and GPU after 1 month.

Well depends on what you want it for. Big difference in storage capacity of course, and the samsung will be MUCH cheaper.

TBH, I would go the cheapskate way and get the Samsung but I suppose £115 is not too bad a price of you want to try out an SSD. Of course an SSD is perfectly silent too! BTW,have you tried isolating your existing hard drives using rubber washers or even suspending them using rubber bands:

Also using some sound deadening material like PaxMate may also help to block out some of the noise.
