Alternatively if you go with the 95W Phenom II X4 945 you could use your existing PSU:

So if i went with the faster phenom, id require a new psu? Would it be tough to get this 945 phenom up to speeds of the one u mentioned in ur earlier post?

In theory a stock Phenom II X4 965 and HD5850 should work fine with your PSU but since it is a bit on the old side it would be a safer bet to go for the Phenom II X4 945 95W.

AFAIK,you should be able to get a Phenom II X4 945 upto 3.2GHZ but remember the Phenom II X4 965BE comes with a better stock cooler.

Cheers CAT. How would that intel spec you put up cope with my PSU?

The Core i5 760 is a 95W TDP processor so it should draw around the same power as the Phenom II X4 945. However, socket AM3 is more likely to be a longer lived platform as there indications that AMD Bulldozer will work with socket AM3. Socket 1156 is being replaced by socket 1155 at the end of the year. OTH,the Core i5 760 will be a faster processor than a Phenom II X4 945 but of course the AMD build will cost less and have a few more extras like SATA 3.0 over the Intel build.

The Coolermaster Wavemaster only uses 80mm fans and no real air vents, you should be able to get away with it and could always mod it to add in some extra cooling
Not sure why you're looking at matx motherboards when the Wavemaster in a normal atx case.

CAT has already pointed out that the gtx465 is pretty pants, the gtx460 1gb card is actually faster than the gtx650 and the gtx460 768nb is not far behind http://www.hexus.net/content/item.ph...=25391&page=13
And both versions of the gtx460 use less power and generate less heat.

I'm really not sure USB3 or sata6gb is all that important atm
If it is to you then
    Asus M4A87TD EVO £75 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-...-SATA-RAID-ATX
    MSI 870A-G54 £77 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/MSI-8...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    no need for it? then
    MSI 770 C45 £50 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/MSI-7...dio-GB-LAN-ATX
    Gigabyte GA-MA770T-ES3 £52 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Gigab...3Gb-s-RAID-ATX

I'm still not sold on quad core being needed unless you actively try to do lots of thigs at the same time.
    AthlonII x3 445 £62 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AMD-A...MHz-95W-Retail

If you are sold on a quad core and want that bit of extra speed
    PhenomII x4 945 £105 http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/AMD-P...MHz-95W-Retail

Both are 95w cpu's so your old psu should be able to cope, esp at stock.

Views of this guys to go with:

    Enermax Noisetaker 485w
    Coolermaster Wavemaster

Anything else I need to add?

    Fans etc?

This should be safe with my PSU, and going 5850HD and or the phneom 465 would be overkill for psu?
