I had some trouble getting the same CPU to work on my motherboard, it turned out to be the BIOS needed updating to support the CPU. Check the mobo MFR's website to see the CPU compatibility list, it should say what BIOS version you need to support each CPU. If your CPU is supported with a later BIOS release, see if you can find anyone with a CPU supported in the current BIOS version and get them to flash it for you. If you don't know anyone try contacting the retailer you got it from to see if they can do it for you.

Ah right, sorry if I missed that in your previous posts I just skimmed over the thread.
Well what I have done so far is 1gb of kingston ddr3 ram as nibbler recommended and I have taken out the motherboard from the case and put it on the box with antistatic matt it came with because apparently if the backplate touches the case then it will short something which could cause problems. Anyway with the motherboard out the case I am still experiencing the same problems. So i guess that leaves the motherboard and ram and maybe the cpu.
So the new ram if it works will show that the ocz ram is faulty and if it does not then the motherboard or cpu is. Hopefully it is the ram
Yup
Did you get scansure or equivalent?
I had scansure but that finished a month ago .... i got it on the 9/9/10 got one module working so assumed the only prob was ram, so for 2 months ive been wasting time by sending ram .... so if i have to send motherboard back do i send to scan or asus, on their website it says contact the retailer. But yeah i feel like an idiot
Contact SCAN if it's the motherboard. They'll just put you through to ASUS if it was the wrong thing to do anyway.
ok so i received my new ram yesterday and still its not working I tried it in all slots and reset cmos, and i did it outside of the case still i get the memok going solid red and beeps that no memory is detected, I tried the memok button but it fails to fix it. I pushed down on the ram all I could ultil I thought the motherboard may break to make sure its seated properly but still it wont work. So that leaves the motherboard and cpu as the problem? I dont think is the cpu because for the few days I had to pc working I used prime 95 with the option to max cpu (forgot what is called) for a few hours and I had no crashes or anything and max temp i got was around 42. So I think that leaves the motherboard, there is a new bios out which fixes some memory issues how would i go about installing that when my screen is blank? maybe that will fix it.
Ok so im packing up my motherboard so its ready to send to asus or scan but the back plate for the h50 had a sticker and when i took it off there is some of the sticker left behind on the motherboard and i cant find the screws for the orginal backplate would asus or scan mind ?????
TBH I think if the mobo has died on you then that's of no concern - or shouldn't be at least.
Well i found the screws they were not black, which i thought they were, nibbler i dont want to give them any reason to send me back my mobo ill post a thread in the scan section regarding the send back
I can't see you having any problems because of a bit of sticky residue, how much is there? You might be able to remove it with some IPA (don't use acetone).
Meh. It all packed up now and the residue is covered by the blackpate which came with the mobo, the residue isnt evensticky its just like paper u kno when u peel a sticker off and it flops, that papery thing is left behind
