Cool System upgrade - Scan 3XS Overclock bundles

    Hi,

I have a 6 year old system. It was pretty good when I built it, but now it's flagging. I was thinking about getting a new system (I'm weary of building/over clocking my own), but what I want costs £1200+, what I'm willing to pay is nearer £800.

So I figured I'd just upgrade some bits. A new 1TB HDD, Windows 7 and a GTX 460. That should do it.

Well for Xmas I got Black Ops and discovered it doesn't work on single core CPUs !!! And I don't think there are any dual cores for my socket 939 Mobo.

So I started looking at Scan's OC bundles

A few days ago I very nearly clicked buy on one of the £240 I3 bundles ... but then doubt set in.

Now I'm looking enviously at the i7 deals and I'm very tempted by the SLIK system with the Gigabyte GA-X58A UD3R Rev2 Mobo.

If you were spending my money, what would you buy

A scan OC bundle or a complete new system.

My existing system has an OK Thermaltake case (Soprano), a 600W Seasonic PSU (it was pcpro AList when I bought it, but it's 6 years old now) and various other bits and bobs *X-Fi music card, a dvd write, a nice 24in monitor.

Give me some advice to help me feel good

That is something I was wondering about. Wikipedia claims there will be an announcement on Wednesday.

Anyone have any views on how long it will be before the prices of other components fall ?
