After a few hours of processing

    E-350 1.6GHz
    6GB DDR3
Win7 Home 64bit (I think I mistakenly said Win 7 Pro last time, thats the main PC).

    Normal
    BBB: 4.68
    Splice: 4.30
    Tron: 5.43

    High
    BBB: 1.47
    Splice: 1.07
    Tron:1.56

This is excellent piece of software, I have managed to ripped a dvd5/dvd9 to mkv @500fps+ using bit rate of 2200kps.

Re: The Hexus HandBrake 0.9.6 charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

Interesting, is that definitely correct i.e. on normal preset, 1055t, not OCd? I'll run it again if needs be but while I'd expect 1600 memory to give a higher result than the 1333 I'm using, that's a bit more than I expected.

Edit: It would be really interesting to get some Bulldozer results now AVX, and possibly XOP, are enabled...

Edit2: Just tried running it again and I can maybe squeeze an extra fps out of it but I've messed with thread priority and I can't get anything like a significant jump. However, I opened task manager and noticed this during encoding:

I'm not certain but I think 0.9.5 maxed the cores. What's it like for you?

Thats the problem with poor handbrake presets. Generally consecutive B-frames should be raised until that last number is under 5%.

Forgot to mention I was running at 4ghz and my ram was at 1525mhz, however I did tron again at normal preset and noticed significant drops in cpu utilization, it was running at around 75-85% most of the time

Your H drive isn't across a network or something is it?
If you aren't getting 100% utilisation, then you must be block in on I/O and as this only really does file I/O then I think that must be it.

Where the hell did "block in" come from, sheesh. I thought I typed "blocking".
Is the hard drive thrashing around a lot during this? From the look of the amount of ram you have it really shouldn't but either the OS is stopping the threads because they can't read or write to disc, or there is a scaling problem in the code.

Handbrake isn't very HDD intensive but as you say it shouldn't really matter with the amount of RAM, the whole file would probably still be cached after I pulled it from NAS. A scaling problem would make sense; compare Golden Dragoon's unlocked X3 Athlon to my Thuban, I'd expect much more of a jump.

Making things a bit easier as there is no chart right now
I assumed that these results are on the normal profile.

    My unlocked X3
    BBB: 43.172 fps
    Splice: 31.761 fps
    Tron: 42.852fps

    Watercooled's X6
    bbb - 46.684 fps
    splice - 39.912 fps
    tron - 50.272 fps

I see an almost constant 98%+ on all cores.

Edit, just had a good look at your system and I am shocked, I am running vista 64bit with 2gb of ram and a 4gb usb stick for readyboost your system seems to run it abnormally slowly considering you have 16gb of ram and an extra 2 cores, it says you are dual booting with ubuntu to rule out windows scheduler, I would try running it from that you will need to add the repository for it though as it isn't in ubuntus software centre:

If you are writing back to NAS then it might matter, if the NAS will only acknowledge the data as written once it is safe.

Smacks of something like the locking problem Anandtech saw with their opteron review.

    http://www.anandtech.com/show/5279/t...-closer-look/9

Sucks to see that at only 6 threads though.

Re: The Hexus HandBrake 0.9.6 charts - who has the greatest multi-threaded POWER!!??

Nope, I'm doing it back to a local HDD. I'll have a go with Ubuntu in a bit, I might also give encoding to/from a ramdisk a go, not that it should make any difference. I suspect the software itself, considering in the 0.9.5 table the 1055T performs very competitively, on par with i7 920 and i5 2500.

I reran the tron encode incase I had my results wrong and got 42.798fps so I can assume that the rest are correct as well, did you kill any other programs that may be running when you tried your runs?

OK so Ubuntu, normal preset results:
    BBB - 51.369469
    splice - 43.264778
    tron - 56.374222

However, the cores still weren't being fully loaded according to htop.
