its all opinions I guess but every zalman Ive had in the past though efficient enough is not worth s**t when it comes to overclocking.

Very, very true.... but that's never been what Zalman kit's about is it?!

Good point about the ThermalRight XP-120 though. I'd stick that one on the list too.

I'm sorry but i've got to disagree with this.

I changed my cpu from a 2500-m running at 2500mhz (considerably quicker than a 2800 barton) to an A64 3200 Clawhammer with 1mb cache and the difference i acheived in 3D mark (so i expect games as well) was nothing short of astounding.

At stock speed the 3200 performed faster than the overclocked 2500-m and when clocked to 2300mhz i got over 3000 points more than the 2500-m.

If you went over to socket 754, get a 3200 Clawhammer with a DFI Nforce3 board and you'll deffo see a marked difference in performance for around the £200 mark.

Realistically you can get an A64 Clawhammer from the forums for around the £130 mark and the new DFI socket 754 board is around £75-£80.

    Budget performance????.....oh yeah

I said a barton running at 2.8GHz not a 2800 barton if you see what I mean.

I speak from experience as like you I had a mobile barton running at 2.5Ghz.

    CPU City

    OCUK

    I know they have them.

    Hottentot

To get 2.8ghz from a Barton you'll need some decent cooling and volt mods.

Imagine what an A64 could do with the same.....wipe the floor with it.

yes m8 i got that part and as i said earlier i disagree cos i had a barton vapod at 2.7GHz and the 3400 was noticeably faster than it with the 3500 overclocked being faster still.
