    64bit n00b after some guidance

evening all - loking for any advice you can offer on AMD 64bit systems

i've not really looked into upgrading at all this year since i've been a bit skint, but with xmas approaching i may change my mind & buy myself a little something

not looking to overclock (not straight away anyway) but want a good & fast rig running at stock first

anyway, all i'm looking for is a few pointers on whats hot & whats not in AMD 64 bit processors & motherboards

(i know i'm being a bit lazy here, but since i've lost the ability to access hexus from work, i've had much less opportunity to keep abreast of what's happening...sorry fellas!)
if it ain't broke...fix it till it is

Amd Athlon 64 3400+ with abit k8v pro (k8t800 pro) shoudl be good choice. 3700+ if u can afford it but don't go 939 route as it is not wrth it. Pppl say u could upgrade later but no point, as u gonna upgrade into nfoce 4 pci express and dual core amd 64 aren't u ??(rethorical question there lol)

well, consider 939 is my view

i dont know a lot about 64, but what i heard was the 754 wll be phased out soon - and not be worth a great deal as the price will go down once they stop making it

939 is faster, and here to stay, just exspensive, 754 as a high spec stop gap system, or 939 for future, faster and more upgradability

personally keeping my socket a tll it all pans out and i can see whats going on, and 939 falls in price
