1.7 Gb Quantum Sirroco (SP) The things still a going....... Bought it back in the day when if u wanted to burn CD's u needed to have a fast HDD, but i was 2 poor to afford SCSI.
Also a Fujitsu 9GB SCA SCSI Disk, still got it somewhere but broke the SCA adapter

WD800JB for IDE - quiet and fast.
at the moment, in terms of SATA SpinPoint 1614C, fast quiet and cheap.
