Flashing Bios (idiots guide needed if poss)

Got a DFI Lan Party Ultra D and a San Diego 4000 XP64

not sure how to flash the bios having never done it, do I do it from floppy in windows or in Dos ?

will be building the rig at the weekend so not sure whats reqired here.

could someone give me or point me to a step by step guide after the rig is finished. Also any help on what I need and where to get it would be good.

    Cheers

It's all HERE - basically, you create a bootable floppy, and boot from it, but all the details are there.

IIRC , you might need to get an older s939 cpu just to boot it up and update the bios. From what ive read so far, most current generation s939 boards wont boot with the San Diego or Venice CPUs.

Mine booted with the multi @ 10, but was very unstable as soon as you ran anything memory/cpu intensive.

ok read that site, I dont understand what its telling me ?
win flash, boot from dos ?

its all in pidgeon english as well, didnt realise this would be so hard. I can see this going badly wrong

Understand I need to build the system up but when it comes to switching on what do I do ?
Do I use just 1 stick of 512 ram,
what will happen with the new chip in ?
should I install windows straight away or do I have to flash bios first ?

if I do what do I need to do this, really worried don't want to fall at the first hurdle ?
