    SN95G5 Scratch

Hey Guys, I have an SN95G5 System and I love it but the other day I accidentally scratched the top of it, I think to myself no big deal because I can just call up shuttle and buy a replacement top. Well I tried e-mailing them but they say they don't carry replacement tops and I realize it's a bigger problem now. To fix it Id have to replace the whole system. Anyone know where I could get a top or someway to remove the scratch (it's pretty deep)? Any help would be much appreciated.

That depends on what you want to replace it with.......if you want the stock panel, then I'm not sure where you'd go about getting one of those, but a replacement panel (made by Shuttle of course) with mesh in the sides rather than just perforations is easy to get hold of.....I have one on my SN95....also helps the cooling, especially the g/card with it being right next to the shell.

Yeah I saw those, How much are those? I really like the side paneling I already have. I hate to ask but could you take a picture with it on so I can see what it looks like?

The mesh sides are about £30-35 inc. shipping from a few suppliers and do look nice (I have one on my main SN95G5).

You can also pick up non mesh black covers but there really hard to find and when found often cost more then the mesh . Failing that a S/H wanted ad might be the best way to find a new black one.

Question, How see through would you say the mesh is? Because I'd like to light it up and see the graphics card through it. Also what do you think would look better green lights or white?

The mesh is fairly opaque until you light it from behind.

I’ll try and take a photo later of mine with some inside lighting if I get 5 mins. Used white, red and blue and white and blue are cool, red is a little to agressive a colour IMHO . Not used green light.

    theokandroid,

Go for 4" CC's and some light defuser.

Sorry, being in the UK I am not sure where you could get the cases in the US, NewEgg used to stock them however maybe there worth a check.
