    Whatever settings you try, you should well, these 3700 Diego's seem pretty decent.

    Which is why iam impressed with my 3400+ reachin the same speeds.

    Great post. Is that your own material or are you plagerizing a mentally challenged relative?
    A completely irrelevant response to my original post.

    Not only have you made yourself look stupid through an obvious spelling mistake, you've responded with a ludicrous (presumably rhetorical) question.

    I was making a serious point. I'm glad it made you angry enough to respond like you did. It might make you think about it.

    Individual attitudes are going to make or break global warming. If you think running SETI 24/7 is a good use of energy then I pray you make contact.

    We're going to need the aliens to sort out the f'ing mess we're making of everything.

    Just wondering what the performance difference there is between a 3700 SD and an athlon 2500+ @ 214*11??

    rick1967, why dont you turn your monitor off? It will save a few things, power, our time, and also help stop you posting totally irellivant stuff in others threads.

    If you get a good overclocking SD 3700 (2.6GHz) I estimate a 50% increase.

    Guys, this is a thread about overclocking, which in itself draws more power, so let's not have an argument about running processes 24/7, and let's share a little more love, shall we?
    PHP Code:
    $s = new signature();
    $s->sarcasm()->intellect()->font('Courier New')->display();

    LOL...too funny! He thinks a misspelling makes me look stupid? I think it just makes me appear lazy. Some might think talking about global warming in an overclocking thread is stupid. Not me though, it's just a sign that somebody is lonely and needs a hug. Come on everybody, lets give rick1967 a big group hug!!!

    The performance differences between a 3700+ San Diego and a 2500+ are so huge I don't know where to start. The 3700+ San Diego is one of the newest and fastest of the Athlon64 cores.

    What kind of programs do you run?

    Look, I currently oc my mobile AMD XP, and I don't want to sound overly righteous (granted, I've f'd that already!), but ffs, all I'm really asking is that we think about our individual energy use. 24/7 PC use for SETI at pretty much full load looks like a crazy waste to me.

    However much I try, I can't make global warming arguments sound sexy or cool. Most people won't give a f until it impacts them directly. Applecrusher said my post is totally irrelevant in this forum. I disagree, I wouldn't have thought of posting it otherwise.

    But that's it. I'll let it lie. Drop some acid and think about the inter-dependencies...man.

    Thanks for getting this far and goodnight.

    Whether the globe is warm or not is none of your concern, and it's certainly beyond the scope of this forum. Global warming is so far out of your control you don't even want to think about it. Why not leave the work of diety to the gods. Try thinking about things that humans can attempt to understand, like for instance OVERCLOCKING!

    Oh, and everything is as it should be!

    You won't believe how much faster a 3700+ San Diego is at games, especially if you have a good videocard.
