overclocking the 3500 venice core

Hi guys , i,ve just recently recieved a 3500 venice core, and i have managed to clock it comfortabley up to 2530 mhz with temps at idle 34 c and loaded up the temps hit 46 c, now the problem i have is when i get to 2600 i start to get problems i.e lock ups in game, which is funny as i feel this chip has loads more left in it, does anyone know the settings needed to push this puppy along i.e ldt settings, ht settings+ ht voltage, if any1 can help i would be very grateful thnx guys

ahhh... i have almost exactly the same setup (except DDR4400)... u cud try browsing thru the older threads... I had a thread which discusses overclocking my venice 3500+...

how high are u running ur volts? I'd raise chipset by 0.05V to 1.6V If I was to go pass 2.6Ghz...

Look, I'll dish u in on my highest setup that worked (10 hr prime)...

CPU : 11 x 258 (2.84Ghz)
K8T800 Chipset : 1.65V
RAM : @ 266MHz (2.7V) 2-3-3-6
Vcore : 1.6V (actually it posted at 1.575, but just dish in a little bit more for the extra stability)
HT ratio: 3x (u cud try 2x if stability doesnt kick in)
AGP Voltage : 1.55V
SB Voltage : 2.5V (raid controller, nothing to be worries about.. but might raise it a little if u have a SATA connected)
HT Voltage: 1.25V

I was also worried it might be your PSU, im using a 600W enermax...

my 2.84Ghz setup runs at 37C idle, 50C gaming load, 60C prime load (10 hrs stress test)

thnx for replying m8, at the moment its running stable at 2530 on 1.425 v it seemed fine ran sandra solid for over an hour and again no problems after playing call of duty or far cry, i guess that i,m at the sweet point on chip at the moment also i,m running on air cooling using the xp90 c copper based cooler with a 120mm hi powered fan, and arctic silver 5 was the heat paste used..

im running a gigabyte 3d cooler gt ultra... watever that was for... had to run full speed on 2.8Ghz... or else temp goes over 69C.. Well, performance wise.. 2.8 versus 2.6Ghz isnt that pronounced.. it'll probably translate to an extra 300 points in 3dmrk05 or 10fps to ur already 130fps Doom3... 2.8 really shortens the life of ur core as well.. I'm currently running at 2.6Ghz... I allowed OCGuru to autodrive all my games at FX clock.. idle windows stuff I left it at 2.2Ghz... ram's at 224Mhz on FX clocks at 2-3-3-6
