    56k modem????

The routers are a lot better. We have won running 24/7 for the last 14 months, not a problem since the day we installed it.

I've had good experiences with the Netgear 834 Series - they are super stable.

    Netgear DG834g here.

Superb router, never needs restarting or anything, been going for around 14 months here too.

AAnother vote for Netgear DG834G - fantastic bit o' kit. Took 10 mins to setup including wireless - rock solid connection very impressed.

...just don't be tempted to go for the DG834GT (108Mbps version). It's got a terrible reputation for instability (see http://forum1.netgear.com/support/), from what I've read.

    No, it isnt.

Had the 604 first revision, and it dropped the connection everytime you downloaded something. Then, one day, wouldnt work altogether and i needed an instant replacement.

Went to the local computer store and had a look at the routers. Ended up walking away with another 604. But, when i checked the sticker underneath, it was a revision 2. Not had one problem with it since i bought it 6 months ago.
