Santa's been busy on the old ebay this year and turned up trumps for the desktop with a second SM940# for me!

Yeah well, as an impoverished student i cant hope to keep up with the likes of matt, but i make an effort at least!
    - But they are very nice, shame in a way they dont 100% match (My orignal ones a 940t, and the news ones a 940n) but the visually very simular, and ive got the colour/brightness etc set to the best match i can.
    - Eather way its certainly better than using the old CRT as the second screen. Its really worn out, and too large to take to uni!

To the untrained (read: my) eye, they look identical, right hand one looks slightly duller, but that might be being exaggerated by the camera, not sure.

Check my setup from a few posts up, i'm impoverished also

You have an RM monitor... we had literally hundreds in our school untill they were replaced by Dell TFT's.
Whats it like gaming wise as in school if you pushed the Power button to hard it would fall off

Yeah, there not bad at all.
    - The one on the right is the 'new' one, which is the 940n, its actaully nateraly slightly brighter, and a fair bit colder.
    - Ive fiddled around a bit with colour tempertures etc, and there simualarish now!
    - Unforutnatly at sub 70% brightness it does tend to make a whistling noise, which is very noticable to me (although my dad cant even hear it). The 940t does the same, but as its a far darker panel i run the brightness full all the time.
    - Only other minor diffrence is the bezel, which is about 1.5mm wider on the 940n. Which also doesnt have dvi input.

    Yeah, its sweet isnt it!
    - Dont use it much now i have the tft, but it was my second moniter (to the 19" crt) for years.
    - I think games would be pushing it, but the picutures not that bad at all, the colour certainly is noticeably better than the ageing 19" moniter under it (which will be 7 in jan)

Its even got my schools ID number and postcode branded into it still...

new pic of my setup, as you can see the old LG 1710S is no longer with me as it would not work on my X1800 XT, so I had to buy the Sony SDM 750, not a bad monitor for £130, has DVI and VGA inputs. Still the same Case, Lian Li PC 7 +

    They kick ass dont they!!
    - Try finding paint to match them. And yes it does end up being green paint.

There actually curtains that my mum made for her house at uni like about 100years ago.
    - But when i was like about 10 she was goin though soem old stuff and i saw then and had them put up in my room, and they've stuck ever since! Always get comments about them.

Heres a photo of my door {other room pics

All the art on the wall is my old school work/projects, as is the bookcase.

thanks, just looking for it on the net and hopefully will be ordering one tonight, although now im faced with a dilema, is there anyway in which i can use just one keyboard and mouse (my g-15 and g-7) with my desktop and my macbook without having to unplug and replug them in each time?
Cause i really would rather buy an apple keyboard and mouse etc, but as u maybe able to see i really dont have any more desk space

    any ideas?
Not sure if I replied this. Check out an app called 'SynergyKM' for OS X.

    http://software.landryhetu.com/synergy/

Download and install the 'pref pane'. Setting it up is easy and I have this working with my G5 and mbp. If you need help catch me on MSN
