240x9 - thats not getting the chip even warm. Seriously though, you were wise to take slowly as they do generally need to burn-in a bit before really pushing them.

My 146 could do 270x10 out the box but took about 3 weeks of using the chip before it would reach 3.0ghz and be fully stable. I know the chip could do even more if I pushed it but decided was happy and not greedy.

    Now though I want a 165 or 170.

Aye all this HHT x gubbins is a bit of a brainkiller when you first notice it all but whats a little bit of maths towards reaching speeds that can only be described as "insane".

CABNE @ 270x9, I can run it at 290x9, but I'm still sorting my memory out to run higher. 2.4GHz is nice anyway, and totally rock solid with the Thermaltake Typhoon.

    290 x 9 for 2.6GHz is prime stable, but I want 1:1

I think my motherboard is holding me back on the higher FSB clocks.

Honestly running on a divider has almost zero performance hit. I used to crave 1:1 and nothing else but now know better - using a divider on a A64 is quite different tan using one with an Intel. If you are only willing to do 1:1 you will be quite limited in your overclock.

I run on a 166 divider - hardly any pc4000 can go above 270-280. My ocz would only reach 270 1:1 so used a divider and reached 3.0ghz easily with an Aquamark score of over 86 600.

    Try it.

I'll have to do some benchies, but yeah I've heard that's the case. Will have to set the mem speed down. 2.7-3.0 would be nice, but I doubt I'll be stable at 350 HTT!

But my memory is new(2GB GSkill PC4000), and I want it to go FASTER!!!!
