Like Kef said, I think the best thing really would be to wait until the next generation of Sockets arrive on our tables - unless you really don't have to do much to get the FX60, then I think you don't need me to tell you to get it

I can understand why you hope and believe that multithreaded apps will soon be the norm, but it is just not true. It's all marketing BS.
You think that AMD went through design and marketing on a chip to sell it only to people who use phase change and and expensive low temp chemicals to cool their chip? What? All 5 or 6 thousand of them? (if that) They made it to put in things like alienware and XPS systems, so johnny 'my dad spoils me' rotten can say 'OmGlolzjoon00bsipwnjoowitmyFX60power coz it makez me so much more uberleet!!!!!!!!!!!111111oneoneoneoneone!!!11!!" in counterstrike. That's where I could have been getting my wires crossed originally then.

I'm sure I read that they were changing the sockets for the next chip and now you've confirmed it, thanks, I knew I wasn't having weird dreams about processors!

I would argue with you Storm but I've seen what you've done to threads like this in the past so I just can't be arsed

kempez has a point lol (no offence)

Obviously this chap is going to be given this chip for a permanant trial, like a review sample but his company actually buys it and he has to do the tedious task of testing it. If he does indeed think its crap then he will tell his company not to recomend it.

As for getting banned dont worry.

Scan is a great store
Dell make great value buget PCs
Alienware owners love thier PCs (my friends dad just spent £3000 on a new one with dual 7800GT 512mb) but they are overpriced
Microsoft want to take over the world
Intel have taken a move into the heating buissiness

see, no one cares.

Infact we encourage bods from companys to partisipate in our forums (like the ATI guy) and if your company will let you im sure the mods will sort you out something (as far as i know HeXus having gone $ on us and will charge you! lol)

EDIT:

back to the original question, the mobo you have is pretty good, i'd stick with that. if you REALLY wanted to switch the only option would be the ASUS A8N sli32 jobby... I have a dfi SLI-D and can see no reason to switch at the moment, i'm not even sure i'll bother looking at socket AM2, is DDR2 any faster than regular (decent) DDR yet? Mines running at 6.2-6.5 MB/s depending on how i'm feeling.

My apologies, after reading the rules on lots of other forums I just assumed the rules on here would be the same, no advertising your own company. I guess some people call it spamming.

Are you saying I can tell people which company I'm from?

Ok guys, I'm the Managing Director of Beast Computers. And you're right, Alienware are overpriced!

We can beat anyone on price on a spec for spec level but the systems on our website are our recommended systems which may seem overpriced on first glance, but if you actually research the components I think you'll find we're reasonable, if not downright brilliant on price!

I'm probably opening up myself to be bullied here after you all bombard our website but what the hell! If you have any comments regarding Beast, please let me know as we are always looking for ways to improve our service.

By the way, we have just recently switched over from using the A8N-SLi Premium to the DFI Lanparty NF4 DR SLi.

If you ever need any components, please give us a call as we can do a very competetive price on most things!

Ok, thats enough of my cheeky marketing techniques! Please feel free to flog me!

Hi TunnelRat

You’re more than welcome to mention your company, provided it relates to the post in some way.
We do not allow companies to come and blatantly pimp themselves without talking to David first though (after all, we do having paying advertisers - it wouldn’t be fair on them for a start).
Basically we ask that any posts that are advertising products / services do not appear. Mentioning the company name is fine, posts such as "We sell this for £xx" is not

Even if you were a beast () and decided to pimp, you'd be asked politely first before banning you - we are very laid back when it comes to banning / suspending ect..

Cheers, and welcome to HEXUS

Thanks for that Agent, I'll try not to blatantly advertise anything I shouldn't then, although sometimes it's very hard not to! ;o)

Maybe we should ask for a commission if he's using Hexus advice to create market solutions

But agreed - the asus or DFI are both great matches for this chip.

As for the FX60, it's a great chip for game developers IMO - probably gives a good indication of mainstream performance a little down the line.

Do youn not find support issues over the DFI boards, my DFI Ultra is good but its fussy, do you save all stable settings in the cmos reloaded incase a customer needs to clear the cmos or what?

Do you have a battlefield 2 server by any chance cause im looking for good ones to play on and you have a USMC sniper on ur site (i mean for me to play on not for me to buy lol)

May be some good marketing
