cheers gonna have a look at those just now , surely there is only one way you can look at clock speed , what it finally ends up as ?

or are these different from a64 where fsb isnt as important as outright clocks im behind on the intel clocking and not that clued up on a64 either i know i could get more out of mine if i could be bothered to tinker it enough but im happy with what i got for the price and am2 is really not doing it for me and core 2 duo's are the thing to have these days by a long way and they probably consume around half what my 165 does while completely hammering it!

at the time of buying the 165 i was hoping to be lucky and get over 2.9 possibly the magic number 3 but im never that lucky really but i got close i can get one core to churn away at 2.9 all day and one will fail after about 15 mins

before i make a move to intel id like the possibility to hit 4ghz i like big round numbers , while being able to use the likes of rmclock or nhc to clock up and down and undervolt it as needed like i do with my a64 last time i checked just about everyone on that xs uses phase change or nitrogen to cool there rigs and your lucky to get a reply if your not using that sort of setup i think ive posted in that place about 3 or 4 times in my life , im not even sure of my username on it anymore .....

hmm thats all way too confusing me strap this and multi that i will let them further there developments and someone to simplify it, i thought intel was still on the nice and simple fsb x multi and would be easier than a64's to clock but those links are a bit complicated for me at the moment

Not as good as when they first offered it (when I paid around £130) but I gather this is a good price for it.

*shudder* OcUK - I wouldn't buy jack from those cowboys. Spend your money elsewhere, even if it means spending more for a hassle-free transaction.

Why? They are hardly any quicker than an E6300?

    Here is my effort....

    E6600, 2 x Geil 1gb CAS4 DDR800

    P5B Deluxe

    Scythe Ninja

Temps shown are under load (prime95 and superpi 32m simultaneous)

    Still on low volts

    Fully stable

I reckon I may get a fair bit more out of this!

Anybody using the P5B deluxe, the Intel tool does a much better job of monitoring temps.

Cool, may have to try that then! I'm using a P5B (not deluxe) but using PC Probe to check temps. You are saying that the intel thing is better than PC Probe, right?

The Intel TAT tool reads temps direct from the core. It is the same reading that is used to determine when the CPU should throttle down, or shut down. It will be far more accurate than the ASUS tool, and will give you a readout for both cores.

I don't like it PC Probe says 43, TAT says 46 and 50 Ah well, 50 is still ok.
