I am having severe issues getting much past 3GHz (24/7 stable)....starting to think that either my NB is overheating or my RAM still isn't playing ball very well with this board......

The F3 BIOS on the DQ6 isn't *great* for OCing, and atm Gigabyte is only looking after ppl who have shelled out for the cheaper mobos :S, that said F4d seems better (also exceededgoku has stated this) but hopefully we will see the F5 BIOS being ideal...

That said I'm going to drop the FSB and find the stable spot (Dual Prime/Orthos)...

I'm also wondering what I can get out of this system with 800MHz RAM + a Scythe Infinity....

which one, the 3700 one was on bios 0607 so i didnt save the settings, but if i remember right, it was with ram timings as relaxed as they would go, 2.2v, all cpu stuff disabled, 1.55v vcore, everything else set to auto. the 3250 settings i have saved, that was won the last beta bios (ive not updated to the latest one yet)..ill post them tomorrow...my crap viewsonic 2025 has dropped the dvi signal again so ive left it for tonight.

Whats the max temp before they start thermal limiting?

So am I right in thinking, I need to lower my voltage?

My freezer pro 7 arrived today, so I need to get that on to cool this beast down.

The other weirdness, is these memory dividers, I set it to 2x in the bios, thinking 366x2 = 732 just under the 800mhz. But CPU-z says my divider is at 1:1 and the ram is running at 366
    Very weird.

Ill post back with my freezer pro results vs std retail HSF

maximum temperature for reliable operation of the E6600 processor is 60.1°C

That said I've seen conroes and allendales perform nicely at 68-72degC being stressed under dual prime and orthos.... Some people have even pushed the core voltage over 1.6 and even to 1.7 on air (I think that's a bit too much). The max I'm gonna go on air is 1.45v Vcore and 2.2 to 2.3v Vdimm...

looks like one of me was lying

what i was trying to say was, for 3250, everything is auto except vdimm, ill post screen shots in a sec. im guessing that the bios is feeding it 1.5v - 1.55v because the temps are the same, and its also stable at 1.5v with the same settings.

heres the screen shots of the bios settings, left them full size, they went all grainy when they shrank because they are off my tv. about 1.35mb each.

Yeah but there is vdroop, so you'd be giving the cpu about 1.39v (its roughly 0.06v lower than stated). I've just been playing about this weekend and orthos stable atm is 3.2Ghz (360x9) :S, I want to be on at least 3.4Ghz by the time the bios is F5.

considering how difficult my DS3 is to OC the DFI RD600 is tempting, and if the price is right ill just save for it

and after my 754 gigabyte mobo and this im not liking them much either lol

EGoku, yea I noticed that. Setting 1.45v in the bios, states ±1.4 in CPU-Z...So 1.5v in BIOS should do the trick then eh?

Thanks to EGoku for the heads up on the new F5d BIOS for the DQ6

This was just a boot up test, with better cooling it could become 24/7 Oh, that's 667MHz DDR2 RAM btw

ye XFis dont work with latest bios, nor do 7950GX2s apparently... nice oc mike . Stock cooler . I'm going to shoot for 3.6Ghz (400x9) later on tonight, my board doesn't seem to post anywhere above 3.4Ghz so I'm going to shove a load of volts thru.
