    Buying agains...it's been a while..

Would anyone be kind enough to have a look, and point out any obvious clangers!

It'll be mostly for gaming and I'm not really intending to overclock just yet, but I'd like to have decent (if not uber) performance. For old times sake I've stuck with Nvidia, haven’t really tried ATI for many years.

I have a case, Tagan PSU, speakers, mouse 'n keyboard.

    Recommendations and comments heartily welcome.

You have it pretty much spot on there mate. You could possibly shave a few quid off by getting a different brand of GPU and overclocking it yourself when you decide to. The ram will be fine for overclocking the CPU at a later date.

You would be much better of geting 2 x 160gb drives than 1 320GB.
If you RAID 0 them performance and load times will significantly increase.

    Besides that its great!

I don't trust Raid 0. You will double the chance of losing all data (if one drive fails, bye bye data) for a very small performance increase other than loading Windows. Otherwise, it all looks good there.

I would personally go for either the HIS X1900XT or MSI 7900GTO as they offer similar/better performance for less money

yeah good idea but i think that what he's got is good indeed, though an 1900xt 256mb wouldn't be that bad a choice, as long as you get a good cooler... And have enough power for the card (consumes more power than a 7950gt i think )

I disagree. RAID 0 gives fantastic performance in synthetic benchmarks, but would only shave a couple of seconds of a load time at most. Plus windows will take longer to boot and random access (ie during a game) can take longer.

Also I think the platter size of the 320 is larger than the 160 drives, giving better performance per drive anyway, without double the risk of loosing data.
