    recommend me some fans?

Right, i've never bought a fan for a pc before, so i'd be grateful with your helpo for something really quite simple...

I need 2 QUIET but fairly powerful 60mm fans to go in the back of my Shuttle sn27p2. It's a common thing that they're loud, and they cool the HDD.

What should i be looking for? Scan doesn't seem to have any 60mm fans at all.

Ive never found any quiet 60mm fans. The best solution that I found was to get a 60mm to 80mm adapter and use an 80mm fan...thats if you have the room

woah thanks for the fast replies!

How do you mean a 60mm to 80mm adapter? As in for the mounting or the power?

    For the fan.

They are bits of plastic that hook up to the 60mm fitting bracket and hold an 80 mm fan on the other end

Yeh Clunks idea is the best way to go imo. But space might be a squeeze.

i'm going to look in a minute...there isn't much space there, as it's a shuttle, but hopefully it'll fit.

There are to squeezed together so i might only be able to fit one 80mm fan in.

You sure there are no quiet 60mm ones?

Thiis is where i get my fans. Panaflo's are now called NMB-MAT. They do a 60mm fan that runs at 7volts so should be fairly silent (NMB-MAT RB-60-L)

Haven't used the 60mm but the have bought 80 & 120mm from here for quite a few years now. Had 80mm 7v fans in a Silverstone Sugo Evolution. These were far superior to the ones supplied by Siolverstone with the case. Don't think you can buy them elsewhere, but TBH the prices are good & the service is brilliant. She even emails you a proof of posting scanned certificate the same evening the fans are dispatched

If you could fit 80mm fans in the case on adaptors I would think that would be better (quieter & better airflow). However, if space is going to be an issue then I'd play safe & use 60mm ones. I think I did buy a 60mm for my dad's sugo case but it ran at full 12volt speed

Wait a sec...if you plug a fan into a power socket that is controlled automatically by the computer (i.e controls the speed of the fan), surely any fan plugged into that socket would also be adjusted? Does it matter if you get the 4 pin 7Volt one or the 3 pin one?
