i will wait because i need to save up a bit more money to buy it anyway.
i think by the time ive got the money i can problay get a 4200 processer if the prices keep dropping or get the 3800 for less and spend the rest of the money else where such as mobo
i might get a slightly more expensive mobo so i can upgrade later

Definitely look at getting a decent psu - will cost under £40 for a Seasonic 380W.

He can keep the one that comes with the case as a spare or go for a different case.

i noticed i had two psu's when i relised i was late for a lesson at college so i logged off quick and went to lesson=D
i cant find a case for the same price with no psu.
i guess i could buy a nicer case later on but use the £20 case to start with.
    ok total cost £349
i wonder if i can get a better mobo for £47

What will you do with the case later on? If you are going to dump it then IMO another 5-10 will get you a better case now which you will be better off with.

I know all these changes are adding to the budget but I'm sure you would rather spend a few quid extra and get something that will last and you're happy with.

your right they are adding to the price but a nicer case to start with would be better.
i need to find a case with decent psu for around £50-£60 to get the same price as noiw but a nicer case
well maybe cheaper with both but i dono if i can.
the psu is one thing i dont want to skimp on.
i want a really stable system and will pay the price for a good psu.
    what about
    LN16907 Antec NSK4400 £48?
    LN15975 AMD AM2 Athlon 64 3800+ £63.44
    LN16745 Arctic Cooling Alpine 64 £5.86

ok with reguards to mobo it has a nvidia 6150 intrograted into it with a dvi input sure 6150 nvidia grahics are rubbish but, the only games i play on my pc are runescape online game which has not very good graphics and the sims2.
my 9800 ati all in wonder agp card plays the sims 2 fine would the 6150 nvidia on the mobo play the sims 2 as well as my ati 9800 128mb agp card?
    still undecided about mobo
    LN15415Asus WL-138g V2 54G
    £343 for that pc.

agree with comment on case - if your gonna get a seperate PSU anyway spend a little more now for a decent case....... trust me you learn the hard way otherwise.

Here's a few recommendations - the sharkoon is unknown, however their fans are really well rated - if case is as good will be a bargain.
Antec always a good brand. Coolermaster my m8 has one and been pleased.

    LN8137
Coolermaster Cavalier 3 Silver Chrome Finish w/o PSU £36.49 £42.88
    LN13435
    Coolermaster Centurion RC-532 Black + Silver Trim Case w/o PSU £33.99 £39.94
    LN17190
Sharkoon Rebel 9 Value Edition ATX - Inc 250mm Mega Side Panel Fan (No PSU) £31.99 £37.59

    OTHER
    ANTEC SLK3000B £29.81

    thanks for the case surgestions.

my current pc case is this one
CoolerMaster Centurion 5 Silver Case Black Body (Silver Trimmings) w/o PSU
    but with blue trimmings.
but im still gonna be using that pc.
i like the antec case you linked to but its got no psu.is the antec case i linked to above with has a psu anygood?
or is the psu not very good?
i really like that sharkoon case
dang i like the cavalier case as well.
but then it would cost like £40 for a case and £40 for a psu bumping up the price by about £30
i was hoping i could got a case for about £60 and with a psu

I didn't know the JeanTech Phong II had come down in price, I thought it was still £50.

Both the Phong II and the SLK3000B are nice cases IMO. I've built a system in the SLK and Phong I. The Phong I cut my finger

Seasonic PSU would be better if you can stretch. Antec ones (not rebranded Seasonic) are ok'ish.

i dont want to put together all that stuff including the 3800 amd processer and the quite expensive abitt mobo and the have the psu destroy it.
so i want a decent psu and a nice case.
i like the entec case but i dont know about the psu.
what do you mean by okish? will they not last long or likely to blow up my mobo?

i like the entec case but i dont know about the psu.
what do you mean by okish? will they not last long or likely to blow up my mobo?

Antec are in the middle of the pack, a few people have had them blow (including one I deployed).

Some info about Antec not being too good - http://forums.amd.com/index.php?showtopic=82809

i just really now need to save up the money and find out if the nvidia 6150 gpu on the mobo can play the sims 2 at an ok resolution
to get a seprate video card would mean to lower something else
btw what is the onboard sound on mobos these days like?
so ive got on board video nvidia 6150 gpu and on board sound.
and that doesnt include a wireless nic card
any advice on changing some stuff so i can get a separate graphics card?
and i need a wirless nic card
seems we are looking near £400
