Well, the PSU incompatibilities that I had, caused the CPUINIT error on the display, but that also seems to be the default error for most things. When it killed the ram, it said DRAM DET, or CHIP INIT.

IF you have some cheap ram, try that one stick at a time.
If you have another PSU, try that as well. Might seem odd that it worked at first and then stopped, but thats exactly what happened with mine.

The commando should have an extra button next to the cmos/reset/power that plays a short but annoying segment of "Another one bites the dust".
Told u a million times to stop exaggerating

But sorry to hear about your issues M8.

    Quick question-
When power is on is the clear cmos button on the mobo lit ??

Q: Those who have RMA'd their Commando, what was the replacement one like?
Well that's where the lottery starts no72 & myself were winners, well replacement boards worked. poor old clunk never stood a chance

    Thanks Supershanks,

    "q: Quick question-

it was lit and remains lit, how ever when i moved the cmos jumper and powered up it was off til i pushed it and the system powered up. But still just LEDs FANS no display.

Well i'll be sending my Commando off for replacement. Fingers crossed I'll get a good one back lol.

Thanks for the advice again lads always appreciated.

It might be worth a last pull of the battery & try x2 pushes.
Alternatively 24hr clear cmos + reflash may be worth a try while waiting for RMA.

that's about all the A&E tips i have atm

    luck

And take the ram out for a few hours and then try it again.

    the thing with
the heatpipe cooling the PWMs along the top of the board actually wrap underneath the PCB and attach to a metal plate on the underside. It looks like an interesting idea, and we can’t wait to see how this works in practice.
can already be seen in the new Gigabyte GA-680SLI-DQ6

and ironically Sauternes is from the "Graves" region, which is ideal for burying dead commandos in.

Have had a few issues in the last few days maintaing OC at 385x9@4:5 memory. 1 or 2 smmall instances led me to re run orthos which i'd manually ended after 11hrs previouslly. It failed , tried a number of things, got fed up last night so dropped to 380 fith all settings same but with vcore down a notch. kicked off orthos, still running this am. had a few things on tioday so left it
going ok not much to do leave it running.

Browsing around looking at wcooling. checked time Mmmmm 24Hours. Orthos still running - I'll take a screenie ........

Re: new commando thread that hopefully is not cursed but the old one

    Hi lads,

Its been a good few weeks since i've posted here i've been having no issues with the new Commando board i received a while ago. Also the chirping sound was resolved by a BIOS upg believe it or not.

Anyways I've since been adding to my rig as you do but i've now got a RAID question for you all. Can i setup x2 RAID arrays on the RAID controller, has anyone tried this?

    Cheers
