new content lasting a week for halloween
Me and my Brother have just started playing..it's looking good so far..just have to work out how to actually play alongside him now!
Bought it, but haven't played for longer than 10 hours. I must have outgrown themeparks =/
I have to admit I loved gw1 and I am looking forward to playing gw2 it looks beautiful and I like the change up in quests and random events. The pvp is definitely a big emphasis to GW in general so i am not surprised people might find the pve lacking if they focus on just that area
I guess the coming updates will be mostly PvE stuff. PvE requires constant new content, while PvP is more about polishing working systems (like getting a decent ranking system working and trying to balance the classes properly..).
The new clock tower jumping puzzle was nice but is it a good use of dev time if it's only up for a week every year? Hopefully the next update will have some more permanent stuff (yeah, I did the vexa's and dredgenaught puzzles, they were decent).
Dungeons need a massive reworking, 90% of the encounters feel exactly the same and tactically no different from doing the first level 30 dungeon.
There's a new event on at the moment which probaly ends today:

There's a new dungeon as part of the event in Lions Arch that pretty much anybody can play. It puts everybody to level 80. Having played it through twice (although the areas / events you play are randomised) I don't think too much to it. Some of the boss creatures take absolutely ages to kill and the rewards for the new "currency" in crystals seem to require many, many playthroughs before you'd have enough for anything even slightly worth having.
There's also a way to invite a friend too if you fancy getting some of your mates intersted.

The game itself is awesome IMO. Adventuring with fellow guild members is great and the pve group events are fun. I do agree that the dungeons need a re-think as they seem to be a massive gring from start to finish. Can't particularly recall enjoying a single one yet but the XP reward at lower levels makes them worthwhile. It's nice to finish a dungeon and then level up 2 or 3 times
Good article here

Huge free content coming Jan and February
I'm getting bored now on the Piken server as I know practically no-one there at all
Due to unplayable framerates in WvW, I'm planning on buying a whole new system (possibly 3XS Z77 Performance GTK3) because my three year old laptop is struggling, even though it runs Dishonoured well. Is anyone else on Desolation server?
im on dessolation
Ah cool, which guild are you in? Do you do much WvW? I'm one of the recruitment officers for IRON guild, I think we're one of the few active large guilds still around as the game is losing more players :-/
Currently 1st place in our WvW match-up this week, thanks to a large Spanish guild transferring to Deso
i reached level 80 on xmas and started a new char, level 34 now. love this game. soo addicted
I don't think the game is in trouble, but it does happen that you will be the only player about in a zone. I wonder will they ever merge servers or will that just happen organically as guilds decide to transfer?
For anyone experiencing poor framerates on new nVidia cards try the latest drivers which have just come out of Beta. It has almost doubled my frame rate in some areas on a MSI GTX 660Ti PE.
I've found Guild Wars 2 to be a very different experience from other MMOs I've played. They have effectively eliminated the grind and put a huge emphasis on co-op with your friends. We've found it to be an enjoyable experience so far. We haven't yet been heavily involved in PvP which is a very strong selling point for GW2.
