To err is human. To really foul things up ... you need a computer.
Apache vs Havoc has gotta be the best chopper sim out there that lets you shoot things too....
DAMN hard on full real settings.... throttle, cyclic, rudder, roll and pitch to worry about.... 5 axis with a 4 axis controller..... mad!
I did play Gunship 2000 all the way through on the Amiga, but the PC version of it was carp... so yeah, APache vs Havoc is the way to go... in fact, I still have a copy of it somewhere if anyone wants to borrow it.

Actually as far as hard settings go I urge anyone running Fs2002 / Fs2004 to give the whirly birds a try on full real settings, its a very humbling experience
Suffice to say the full real settings are too hard, primarily due to some biggies - peripheral vision and feel, both essential for flying a chopper and both missing in a flight simulator, you can't sense the chopper drifting or slipping out of position like you can in reality, as a compromise real chopper pilots who fly Fs2004 over at www.hovercontrol.com have come up with their own realism settings which best simulate controlling a chopper.
Its taken me a heck of a lot of practice, but I'm getting there
I just love choppers in operation flashpoint when you have a joystick. Flying low over trees or following a road - awesome

Apache vs Havoc also works with Comanche vs Hokum - you can run them all together. Shame I lost the CDs.
Oh and I found a great vid last night of an Apache... flying nice and low and he hits a tree and nails the rotors.
Gets it down, but there's plenty of blue language I can tell thee.
linky?
