Seriously thought, oh my god!! This is what I've been waiting for. For a LONG time! "Pre-Cataclysm" is the WoW of my dreams, TBC and WotLK were both amazing expansions and the game was awesome in those days. I truly hope this works out well.

Is anyone else excited to see this? Or are you over the days of vanilla WoW?

Hmm, kind of mixed feeling tbh. Whilst I think they got some of the mix better in those early days, a lot of it was pretty tedious. Nice to have the option though.

Not sure it would be enough to get me to re-activate my account.

This is not TBC or WotLK though; it's vanilla. Grind some MC / BWL / etc. for your tier sets and deal with broken class balance. I think I'm past that.

Also people remembers vanilla like it was at the end just before TBC, at release the game was horribly broken. There wasn't even enough quests to get to max level. You essentially had to grind at some point or do dungeons (that hardly gave xp and rarely had any quests) They fixed this to a large degree with patches where they added more quests and tuned the level of others.

It's a lovely game, the way it's meant to be played. You had to earn your loot and work together in 40 man teams. Stakes were high.

Unfortunately, as the original Hexus guild proved, it also bought out the worst in people...

Well, this is a blast from the past! As a beta tester for the original, I'm certainly looking forward to this. Also, it would be good to chat to the old members of the Hexus Horde!

Also, if anyone is interested in joining the classic beta, make sure you update your beta settings within your Blizzard account as WoW Classic is separate to normal WoW.

I might give that a look, I stopped playing wow a few years ago after many many years of playing. The challenge went from the game for me.

I've been semi tempted by this but for me the golden age was TBC, if they did that I would be sinking my life into it again no questions asked!

Me too, the server did not cope well with everyone turning up in Tanaris to see the opening.

I gather there is a big beta test starting 7pm tonight for anyone with an active account ready for release later this month? I'm wondering if I should sign up for a month to have a play.
