Ahh, torps have a min range of 300m?? That may account for many of my misses!
Sounds good Skii, I'll remember to use the convoy as protection! :P

Very simple but very effective mechanism to stop the torps going off in or around your sub ;)
Ahh, wondered what that was for!!!
I think bombs used to have that as well.
Yep, most heavy bombs had the same mechanism :)Quote:

Ahh, I see! :D
Depth charges had a hydrostatic trigger (depth sensitive) - set to explode at a pre-programmed depth. Later models worked by magnetic detonation similar to torps.
Artillery shells also have fuses on them, they can be mechanical or electrical and can be set to detonate at certain heights.
Ok, I'm in, just doing the training now, when it says u've completed the training missions how to do quit out so it saves it properly, I'm pressing escape n its sayin abandon....

I've always gone back to the port, even right back to where the band are playing! Getting used to flying back in at full speed and slamming it into full reverse trying to stop myself hitting the wall! :D
That's on the patrols where you start in a port, Trig is reffering to the Academy missions, where you start in open water :)
I had the same probs when I first started doing the academy missions !
Havnt played this for a few days now, just been finishing off HL2 and Farcry. Going to get back to it in the next day or so. Torpedo training is doing my nut, I manage to sink 2 of the boats (1 of them being the big one) then all the other boats get away as quick as poss and I cant find them. I was chasing one then it just vanished into thin air.
How do you go into silent running, I know you can turn the diesel engines off to run on just electrics but accidently pressed a key to do this previously and no idea how I done it.
Click on your Chief Engineer - far left character and click on propulsion, the second picture is the command to rig for silent running (reduced speed, no flushing of toilets, use of anything mechanical or noisy) Bear in mind you can't reload torpedos whilst running silent.Quote:
