True, but the point is, smoking weed can bring out problems people never realised they had before. Maybe not a huge amount of people but it's still more than smoking or alcohol will do. Admittedly alcohol and cigarettes kill far far more people than drugs but to declassify a drug that can leave people mentally scarred without even realising it does that is bad.

I mean people say it should be class c not b, well then, surely fags and booze should be class c or b as well. I personally wouldn't mind if fags were cos i cant give em up without more help.

What about heroin? Most other stuff that any of my friends take (though for most of it Id think they were being stupid) I can just about accept, but heroin is evil. I mean, think about the pimps that get young girls addicted to heroin, just so that they become dependent on them, and can never leave...

Anyway, alcohol is far worse than weed, in terms of its social effects at the very least. It ruins families, it causes all sorts of crime, and so much else. Thats not to say that I think weed is a good thing, just that alcohol is worse, at least in excess. Bringing out problems people already had surely isnt as bad as giving people new ones...? And hey, McDonalds is bad for you, obesity is the biggest upcoming health problem in the world by a long way, and they can hardly classify the big mac as a class C drug now can they?

You can find loads of different journals to point at different sides of the argument, depending on the journal and the writer, so theres very little point in pointing out journal articles as they themselves mean very little. The point is that there is no evidence, there cant really be any, as the drug is illegal in the first place. If the drug is illegal, then they cant perform studies with people taking it, so they cant have strict evidence, so what different people say is just an opinion, formed from their own experience. The opinions which I expressed above were based on a series of lectures given to us by the co-ordinator of the main drugs re-hab unit for the bristol region.

What I was saying, is therefore, just my own opinion (though I appreciate it did sound like I was stating fact). I just think thatalcohol is worse than most people realise. Weed is probably quite bad for you, though Im doubtful that its much worse than smoking. If you want to look at it more, the British Medical Journal is a good place to start, try this:

Which has a few good points and stuff. But like I said, its still mostly opinion at the moment, and there is still obviously much debate.

I have never read any of his stuff, but there was a documentary about him on telly last night and he sounds like a very good writer. I never liked his stand up that much tbh, but I hear his books are great.

Speed is bad I agree, but canabis? sure if you smoke it everyday in large amounts but for recreational use a smoke everynow and again shouldnt cause damage?
Sure if you smoke it a lot then you may very well experience mental issues in the long run, probably about the time that the nicotine its mixed with gives you cancer...

TBH if your high as a kite on canabis then murder is the last thing on your mind, anyone who has taken the drug will know that, People like this that are saying things like this get right up my nose, look at the amount of people each year killed by people pissed out there heads and the amount of people each year who die from cancer due to smoking but no thats allright because its a nice taxable drug .
