Good luck waiting for that to happen, nichomach sure acts like a blinkered teenager, when I noticed in his profile he's 40 I decided to just not post in the thread anymore as what people say to him just doesnt sink in and you cant explain what you mean without him name calling and going off one on..

What names did I call you, exactly, Trig? I mean, I assume you mean I used some form of derogatory label for you, like, oh, "blinkered teenager", as opposed to disagreeing with you as to the nature of faith and religion and its place in public life?

OK, I'll give you an example. Our local bus company advertised posts a couple of years back. No PCV license required (they'd pay for you to qualify), just a clean driving license. 24 (I think) days p.a. paid holiday, free travel for family members, starting salary £17-18k. In return, you just had to agree to work for the company for 3 years. Fairly standard clause for employers paying staff training costs. Now it's not riches, certainly, but it's more than the starting salary for a soldier for instance (which is pretty disgraceful in itself, but that's another matter). They couldn't fill them from UK applicants, so they recruited from Poland. Result? We have a lot of Polish bus drivers, and they do just fine, while there're a lot of Brits complaining about them "comin' over 'ere and takin' our jobs". As I say, the salary's not riches, but it's a starting salary for an untrained employee - it's not THAT bad, certainly not for Lancashire.

No, it was more your complete lack of ability to listen to what I was saying and what I meant and my trying to explain it, but as your about to not listen to me and miss quote me then whats the point.

This thread is supposed to head towards making us realise our responsibility towards the society and each other ( atleast thats what i thought ). Lets not act in a way totally opposite to that...

I think the phrase " sod off back to you own country" applies to these people. You live in our country then you live by our rules. You dont like it!? Move to france!

Which is a statement I don't think anyone in their right mind could stand by, if only for the fact that a lot of them *are* in their own country already...

Of course, you could always do an Australia and make it part of your political statement:

Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.
Prime Minister Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques. Quote: “IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali, we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians”.
“This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom”.
“We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the language!”
“Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture”.
“We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us”.
“This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom,
    ‘THE RIGHT TO LEAVE’.”
“If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted”.

I wish our politicains had the nerve to stand up and say things like that.

That is EXACTLY what the UK needs to sort this bloody mess out!

Yep, and using the above Australian thinking that applies to these muslims, this very same thinking is why i left Australia after working there and returned to Britain.

It is a society that hates everyone that does not exactly conform to their way of "Australian" thinking.

It is like living in a place where everyone is called Homer Simpson.

Now now...if you were in their country, on holiday - would you prefer to go through their legal system, or ours, say you were found with an ounce of coke, for example?

you can select either, luckily our freedom of speech allows for us to say which we would prefer.

Now extend this to others, why shouldn't they have the right to SAY that they want Sharia Law in our country? doesnt mean that we would give it to them, nor that we should want to give it to them.

my point being many people want many different things, luckily we live in a country where we are able to express this relatively freely and should be able to without attracting abuse...

Yes it is (see 'variations' section).

I can't understand why Hexus has recently become home to so many bigoted, xenophobic and sometimes downright racist opinions. We seem to be collecting them in the same way we are collecting owners of broken Peugeot 306s.
