could we please have a clarification of exactly how Moore has been anti-american at any time? The only instance I can think of is the "iraqi insurgence" quote, which is more anti-war than anti-US.Originally Posted by Shogun

Why?If it were up to me i would have burnd iraq! ALL OF IT!!!!!
IRAQ HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!
Bomb the terrorists in Afganistan, fine, but what did Iraq have to do with anything? Yes they had Sadam, who was Al-Qaeda's enemy anyway. No he isn't a nice person and should be removed, but it should be done through United Nations not by a rogue state whose president is after oil and scapegoats.
Would you really kill 10 million innocent people? Because of blind lust for blood? If you are america then maybe we should call MM anti-american, because he is against people like you.

Tough on mirrors, tough on the causes of mirrors.
Good for you. Any justification? A friend of mine was in America, he met alot of Americans, on the similar topic, the american told him "Iraq's not American, we should just nuke them!" Thats not too dissimilar to burning it all down.If it were up to me i would have burnd iraq! ALL OF IT!!!!!
Really, what harm has Iraq REALLY done to America, or threatened America for you to think that? A plausible explanation will maybe sway people, so lets hear it.
To say the UK is *real* media is somewhat blowing our own trumpet, we only can get what is given to us (like every other country) - we may have a reputation, but given recent events regarding e.g. BBC, do you still whole heartedly believe in that?we have *real* media that lets us know what's going on in the world
I was referring to the overall anti-Bush message.
how do you imagine that happening? the war only happened 1 year ago.
Of course it isn't/wasn't right. However, I don't see how making a documentary that spends half an hour talking about how Bush was a failed businessman is going to change anything.Whatever your opinion of MM may be, surely there is no denying that what happened and is happening now is not right.
No point in me arguing this further.
They live like crap! It's not there fault!!!! They need help! Nothing like starting over from scratch!!!
You may not see it, but the way the film works, it might sway some people (as its intended). Usually people like to see a long list of achievements and excellence within a leader for a basis of trust . . . show them otherwise and they might start thinking what a right retard Bush is (if they didnt think that already). It is propaganda, no lies, but omission of absolute truths (I only wonder what was left out in the film), but I dont think the film was intended otherwise. However, I don't see how making a documentary that spends half an hour talking about how Bush was a failed businessman is going to change anything.
So burn em? hmmmm. They live like crap! It's not there fault!!!!
No doubt thats what the American businesses had in mind as well.Nothing like starting over from scratch!!!
I still dont see a plausible argument. . .
I would invite them to the us.. but we have to many people so as it is! And we can do what we want anyway! we are the super power of the world!
..and people wonder why the US was attacked...

Either you're on a rather distasteful windup here or else you're proving exactly why the US (and the rest of the world) need more people like MMOriginally Posted by myth
Mm?
Moore is usually right, but he is a serious propagandist and you should view his films and read his books with a similar level of scepticism to that you'd have for a film by a right winger. Still, I'm looking forward to seeing it, we're going tomorrow.
If you want some more objective Bush criticism, read Shrub (written before he was President, still pretty relevant) and Bushwacked by Molly Ivins. For (hilarious and meticulously researched) criticism of the right wing American media, try Lies (and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them) by Al Franken. Having read them all, I'm far from convinced that Bush is as stupid as people make out. He's not an intellectual, but he's cunning, and to underestimate him makes him all the more dangerous.
Rich :¬)
I dunno, the picture where he's trying to read from an upside-down book doesn't really do him any favours
