I pay much, much less to ride the buses, and it's less stressful too!

How does that work then? Surely there is a greater demand for petrol in America and yet it is 8 times cheaper than in England?

Petrol prices are rising internationally. The US has cheaper petrol as it is not taxed as highly. They also have 58 million people living without healthcare, and it costs about 80,000 dollars to send your kid to university.

I actually find it quite stressful when the bus is full of yobs shouting their heads off, scratching graffitti into the windows, or going along the bus wiping dog excrement off their shoes onto a whole row of seats (happened recently.)

I take you you live outside of London or never travel late at night?

I live near London Heathrow (within the M25 so I class it as London) and travel at all times of the day. When I said it was less stressful, I meant about actually having to concentrate on driving and the stresses of other road users.

I know it's annoying when there's little ****s on the bus, but I just lose myself in my music for the few minutes I'm on it.

It costs roughly the same to send your kid to university in Britain - it's just that it's me (who has no kids) who pays half of it. SO much fairer...

Anyay - I'm going to investigate LPG for me car next week. One of the local petrol stations sells the stuff so might be worth it.

We ALL pay for it, and a good thing too.

well... I'd like to see where the 71p out of every 90 I pay for a litre goes tbh... Shell (for example) sells petrol at 19p a litre.... the rest is TAX... where does it go? I wish I could stop paying for it I really do. I would love to be able to walk into work, or ride my bike in, but atm I can't do that cos I need the car for carrying tools and stuff around.... Would to God that i could just dispense with the damned thing, cos petrol is just getting stupid now. (

It's funny because there was all that hype of prices rocketing during the petrol crisis, but then it only got as high as around 82p/l. Puts todays prices into perspective doesn't it?

I like driving, therefore I'm just gonna keep buying petrol I guess. I get around 250 miles per £28 or so of fuel. Dunno why it's so low though

    It's around 83p where I go

I drive a 1.8 Vectra and get about ~ 400 miles to a tank (60L), but it costs me ~ £40 to fill it

Majority motorway miles, but driving a little *snigger* past 70
