Well, I was at work today and we had a fire alarm (we get them quite often), I work on the Quayside in Newcastle so we assemble by the river, so we are standing about smoking when 2 police Jetskis drive past... Now a few thoughts ran through my mind, when did we ever have a problem with pirates on the Tyne river?
So I had a look when I got home and found this
Now, These things must cost a fair bit plus the cost of training and of course the fact that these bobbies are not out catching actual criminals and instead are pissing about on jetskis.
I read the site and I must be honest, the things they are saying to justify this dont sound like anything that could not be solved by either the police launch or a patrol car from shore or even if they had a major problem with somebody making away with a rare painting or millenium diamond or whatever there are allways helicopters (we have 2 in this area).
What do you boys think, utter waste of taxpayers money and police resources or sensible step?
