I have been tasered, and it is a horrible experience, it feels like getting cramp in every muscle of your body at the same time, you feel sick instantly, though you cant actually throw up, you head throbs and you lose all sense of balance and become completely disoriented for a few minutes.
It being used as many times as it was on his is tantamount to torture IMO. They even threatened to taser a student who was standing up to them near the end, who in all fairness, wasn't being aggressive or threatening, nor putting anyone in danger.
The 3 officers could of quite easily dragged him from the building. Tasering him will have just confused him and made him struggle more.
Tasering him once was already excessive see as he is just one small unarmed man against 3 coppers.
Saw this the other week, I think they should shoot the guy with a tazer a few times and see if he can get up when told too, and if he doesnt zap him with it again and again and see if he uses the bloody thing again..
I saw this video before and am utterly disgusted by it.
Whilst the first use of the taser may or may not have been justified (i'll reserve judgement on that) any repeats are completely unnecessary as the student wouldn't have been able to stand up after being tasered
That IMHO makes what occured torture.

"stand up", last time i got electrocuted i passed out for like 30 seconds, coudln't stand up for what felt like 2 hours.

after he went limp
I hope Terence Duren gets fired and ends up being sued for every penny he's got.
Had he been resisting then ok some force may be required. However he was doing the complete opposite of resisting, totally over the top reaction in my opinion.

It's absolutely disgusting. The police were also threatening other students with a shock when they were asking for badge numbers. This guy should be fired and up on assault charges
The good 'ole US of A. A land where anyone who gets into a position of power no matter how small that power is all of a sudden turns into a jobsworth who will instantly resort to making your life as miserbale as possible simply because they can.
I've witnessed many abuses and disproportionate use of force in the USA and I've only been there 3 times!
I saw a bloke who had a beer bottle on the beach (which was illegal) in California get 3 officers point guns at him, tell him to lie on his front then they went to handcuff him and as he protested VERBALLY the officer who was doing the handcuffing beat him with the baton whilst the other 2 coppers threatened to shoot him. The land of the free.....
What also made me laugh was stepping out of Las Vegas airport with a few friends. We walked upto the taxi rank and the bloke controlling the taxi rank made us walk all the way around the zig zag ropes that are used to queue people even though there was NO queue. He insisted that we do it even though it would have been quicker to just hail us 2 cabs. When we looked at him with disbeleif and said come off it mate he threatened to call the airport police and have us arrested.
Just deal with US immigration to see what a bunch of jumped up arseholes anyone in uniform is over there.
It always surprises me how anyone who works for the state can simply dehumanise and abuse another fellow human being simply because some working practice or manual or weapon or misguided sense of power allows them to do it.
Sadly this kind of mentality also passes for US foreign policy.

It was an appaling incident and the use of the tazer seemed irrational. Sure something had to be done seeing as the student refused to leave the premises but being tasered was OTT.
video quality was crap and couldnt really make out what was going on except person that got tazered had a white shirt.
suprised the crowd just stood by and watched... 30 students vs 3 coppers (with tazers, probably guns too, but they cant shoot everyone...) is not going to end well for the coppers.
anyone know why they arrested him in the first place?
