cheap PC build needed mATX maybe.

I've been asked to build a cheap PC for someone who wants to do a little bit of gaming, Nothing too demanding. He said he wants to play flight sim and some other games.

I'm thinking along the lines of a dual core AMD with a cheap to midrange board but, not sure if some of the AMD on board graphics would be good enough to cope with what his going to use it for.

    Secondhand parts are an option.

Budget is as cheap as possible. Probably £350 max.

Yes, will need Windows 7 home premium. I did look at the Ebuyer AMD bundles.

Don't like the case, but the budget is tight so not much can be done there, but I think you have chosen a well rounded set of components there CAT, almost the same as I was going to post.

The Athlon x3 450 is a great choice as it is cheap, fast at stock, has the possibility of unlocking, and even if it doesn't unlock it overclocks well.
A 4670 is a great midrange card, and you would struggle to get better performance for the same sort of price.
Not used a msi mobo before, but they have been around forever and I have never heard any bad things about their stuff, and kingston for the memory is another good choice, I prefer crucial myself but both are top brands and it is hard to go wrong with them.

That looks a good spec for what he wants, Now all he has to do is give me some money to buy the parts with.

Would gaming make use of the 3rd core?

There are games such as Dragon Age:Origins which runs far better on a triple or quad core than a dual core.
