thats some waiting time, i guess they must be really busy shteve due to the release of new games and Win7 coming out soon. I guess your going to add your own GPU & Sound card cool. Shteve is'nt 1000W PSU over kill?
en3sge - SLI with Nvidia 285 !! I very much like that idea.

I'd have expected now to be quite quiet with it getting very busy mid october and for the rest of the year.

If it's a 1 month wait now I dread to think what it's going to be when windows 7 and the direct x 11 cards come out along with the normal christmas rush.

It'll have SLI 280s, 3 - 5 Hard Drives. When I specced out the PSU requirements for my current kit, I found that I'd need a 730Watt PSU (one of the reasons I haven't put the second card in this system as it's a 750Watt PSU). Allowing for PSU degradation, I'd rather play it safe and get the 1000Watt.

Re: Opinions on potential 3xs i7 build

Aye, got it up and running at the weekend. Transferred all my other drives to it so now 4TB in total . Cleverly managed to block the fan on my new GTX280 when I "tidied up" the cables at the bottom of the case, and only noticed once I'd installed the OS, enabled SLI and installed EVGA precision. The second card was at 105c. Minor panic and within 30 seconds it was back down to 45c. Had a blast on DoD:Source (300fps and got accused of hacking!) and Darkest of Days (40-60fps with highest Physx). The OS install was a pain as I was trying to get Win7 to install as Home Premium rather than Enterprise as I've got a Home Premium licence on order but gave up in the end. Gonna have to reinstall when that comes so not going to spend much time getting the rest sorted.

On another note, there's a new BIOS for the ASUS P6T v2 (dated 6th September) which addresses a problem with some USB keyboards (my Logitech G15 being one) not being powered in the BIOS screens. Had to flash it to that to get some settings, and then lost the OC profile. Thankfully Scan do e-mail the settings so I was able to re-enter them.

To install Home Premium either remove ei.cfg from the ISO to be prompted for which version to install or use a patcher to alter the ei.cfg file to install Home Premium. That's the way I did it whilst I wait for my retail copy.

Yeah, that's what I was doing. UltraISO always created a broken image if I updated the ei.cfg, and when I deleted ei.cfg it still installed as Enterprise. Only 3 weeks to wait now anyway ;-)

Ooh, just had a look at that link - that could be very useful, cheers.

    And reading the readme:

"Converting to and from Enterprise is not supported because the Enterprise
edition installation discs are significantly different and cannot be be simply
    patched."

    That explains it then.
