    3XS Milo

I'm thinking of treating myself to a 3XS Milo, however I'm trying to find any information regarding noise levels - how does this compare to say a sky+ box? Are there any obvious gotcha's or reasons why I shouldn't go for this model - all comments/advice welcome!

    Phil.

    Re: 3XS Milo

Gut reaction - if I was paying that much for an HTPC:

    A) I would want it to be fully fanless, ensuring it would be similar loudness to Sky+ box. With an SSD and fanless, it would be completely silent.
    B) I would want a more powerful CPU solution than Atom.

I'm a big fan of 3XS systems, don't get me wrong, but that seems pretty unimpressive to me. With a few alterations, it's basically a nettop in a flat case? Hmm.

I'm not going to start making recommendations in Scan's forum obviously, but I'm sure one of their representatives will be along on Monday to comment though, and maybe explain a couple of things.

    Re: 3XS Milo

I think the Silverstone LC19 case looks a nicer option.

The description says "NVIDIA 9400M ION" graphics and Asus AT5NM10-I motherboard, but these don't match up; the motherboard has Intel GMA 3150 graphics, which in some reviews led to 95% CPU use playing 1080p video, compared to 40% for Nvidia ION graphics.

    --edit
did scan ever get back to you about this system?
