    3XS Woes :(

I opened my new 3XS System on Friday in great excitement to find that the BIOS only recognised 4GB out of the 8GB installed...

Re-seating the RAM made no difference whatsoever and to cap things off from there the sound quality coming from the sound card (jacks at the back and through headphones) was utterly dreadful. I also tried the existing logitech speakers on a separate machine and there was no issues. Could this be that the 650W PSU provided is too small?

Rang through to Scan Tech Support for advice and was told to load the non-overclocked profile and this failed to resolve the issue. Secondly from there I could not revert back to the overclocked profile.

What really irked me was that from the screen shots of the testing that was done on my system it was clear as day that the system showed only 4GB of RAM! I was also under the impression that the GPU's on my system would also be overclocked but again there was no evidence to suggest this had even been done or any saved settings to see. I understand that GPUs would be overclocked on the software side of things but this should of been done.

I'm a bit worried now because I can't ever seem to get through to you guys via the phone numbers provided when I needed assistance.

I have had the system collected today for RMA (RMA Reference 231776) so what I want to know is will this be picked up by the 3XS team to repair?

I have emailed scan a number of times yesterday afternoon, no response and emails coming back as undeliverable. I haven't phoned yet but the fact you haven't been able to get through is worrying.

    Re: 3XS Woes :(

My online order progress chart has been updated, still no confirmation of delivery time and still can't get emails to scan.

Can someone let me know what's happening please guys.

Will it be today or tomorrow as I have plans to make and don't want to be sat here waiting if it's not coming today.

    Thanks

    Hi Jamie

I responded to your questions through our query system this morning

As you may not have access to the email I have pasted the reponse below

    Hi Jamie

We will look into the issues with the system and the Ram misreporting

The GPUs are only overclocked through software so as you put your own OS on the system you would need to install MSI afterburner to do this, all tests on the system were done with the VGA cards overclocked, we can provide the OC settings for the cards for you

As you didnt purchase an OS with the system its possible the test OS installed was a 32 bit one which would not show the full 8 gig in windows but we will double check everything once the system is back here

    Regards

    Re: 3XS Woes :(

    The system was completed yesterday.

I didn't request setup I just want the thing delivering.

Philip is aware of the absolute urgency of this system.

Can you liase with him regarding this.

I still cannot send emails as your domain isn't accepting them for some reason.

    Thank you

    Re: 3XS Woes :(

    Hi Ben,

    Thanks for your quick reply.

The OS you guys had on there was Windows 7 home edition 64 bit. The OS I re-installed was Win7 Ultimate 64 Bit. I don't think it was an OS issue as the BIOS was only showing 4GB of RAM not the full 8GB. When I opened the case it had 4 sticks of 2GB installed.
