    No contact

Hi there, ordered a 3XS system five days ago and the payment of c.£1600 has been taken, tried contacting by phone to get some information and was told bluntly that systems take 10 days.
But i'm not seeing any movement after 5 days and no responses to my email queries.

    I'm very worried.

    Re: No contact

Same here. Also no much response happening on forum. I'm told my payment has been taken but no updates since. Was told scan are very good at keeping people up to date well the 3xs team anyway. Also requested a phone call on order to see if there was anything I could change etc and have recieved nothing by phone either.

    Re: No contact

Sure, I know the feeling. I took delivery of a 3XS system a couple of months ago (info in my sig) and it's an odd feeling when so much cash goes in one transaction!

It always takes a while because they test the system in so many ways - even if it takes just a day to build, running it through its paces, running all the benchmarks to make sure it's performing to spec, stress-testing to ensure that all the parts are up to scratch. And of course if something isn't right then they have to get to the bottom of the problem.

It's certainly not a quick process, but when you're spending that sort of money you want something that's stable and likely to last

I certainly did, and so far I haven't been disappointed.

    Re: No contact

Thanks again snootyjim for the reassurance very much appreciated!

Out of curiosity how long did it take for you from point of order to doorstep delivery? My delivery date is sitting at 9th April lol and it's maddening.

I've read through the forums and I like what I see generally but with regards to timescales it seems to be a mixed bag... ranges from 2 weeks to a whole month...

    Re: No contact

I ordered about 3 weeks ago and hopefully my build should be delivered in a week or so, so all in all roughly a month.

It did take a bit of time from the payment to getting a build number - and a call to Scan to chase (thanks again Lee P. ), so suggest you do the same.

Now I am getting regular updated for each step.

Looks like they are running 1 or 2 days behind the original indicative timeline, apparently due to the amount of orders at the moment.

At the end of the day, if I'm being honest, my "frustration" is really down to me and not Scan, simply because I badly want my new rig, but I'd echo what snootyjim said - I'd rather wait a few weeks more and get something that has been built to a best-in-class standard.

Just checked my email, appears to have been approximately 1 month. Think it depends a lot on order volume.

    chris_dillion and robbb

Both of you should have been provided an update by now however it is possible that the delay as stated has been due to the bank holiday weekend

If you can either PM me or email me (my email address is just my hexus username@scan.co.uk) your invoice number for the order I shall check the status of it for you.

Please note I am actually out of the office now till Friday so wont be able to check until then

    Hope this helps

    Regards

    Re: No contact

To be fair you have just spent £1600 on a PC would you rather it potentially be built and test in a rush to try and get it to you within 10 days and potentially have it arrive with problems or wait longer and make sure it is built and tested thoroughly?

If they were told 10 days, then would expect it in 10 days. If it's going to take a month, they should be told that.
