Pretty hard to test RMA's you send back to me...

A little while ago I sent you back a P6T SE mobo and an Asus 5770 to be RMA'd, in fact it's documented further down this page as I had problems at that stage as well: forums. hexus.net/scan-care-hexus-after-sales-support/177510-clarification-code-section-t-cs-rma-problems.html

I've just received from a City Link delivery, the graphics card you were supposed to be retesting, I've checked the RMA number on your site and it looks to me like it's been picked up after the christmas break, they've looked at it, seen it's been tested as not faulty (under the wrong conditions) and just signed it off without bothering to check why it's still there if it's been tested. You may also want to see: forums. hexus.net/scan-care-hexus-after-sales-support/176256-asus-5770-potential-rma.html as he had the exact same problems I'm having, also there IS serious problems with this card in 2d applications and it's well documented across the net including a 20 odd page thread on the ATi forums, I highly doubt it was a sticky fan that caused his card to overheat while not under load and run fine in full 3d apps.

I'm pretty fed up of trying to get things done by email and/or phone and it seems to be the managers/supervisors that reply to threads on here, so I thought I might have more luck.

I've given up on trying to get the products I actually need from you, and have bought those from another PC store (who btw, offered to exchange the items for whatever I wanted should I have the same issues) but I'd much prefer a refund on the faulty card rather than selling it on 2nd hand like I'm being forced to do with the mobo, since sorting this problem out myself has put myself in around £300 more debt than I should be in.

    RMA is 215162

Wouldn't let urls go through as <5 posts, so remove the gap between . and hexus.

Re: Pretty hard to test RMA's you send back to me...

    Hi,

To clarify, the motherboard purchased and returned to us damaged due to bent pins in the CPU socket and also thermal compound in the socket was replaced under the terms of the SCANSURE protection taken out.

The graphics card was returned to us with the following reported fault:

"The graphics card seems to have multiple problems, mainly with dual screen setups which are widely documented on the internet and googling "5770 problem" will bring up many of them."

We tested the card under the following conditions:

"Card setup in machine with multiple monitors running at 1920x1080.
Card running Tropics benchmark with no problems"

If you would like to request a new RMA for further testing of the card please provide a detailed fault description via the following link:

    Regards

I phoned shortly after getting that result on the RMA, and explained the problem further, and you said you were going to retest it. Not much I can do about it now and I'll resubmit it for RMA, but you might want to look at it to avoid losing future customers, because you've definitely lost this one.
