    talk the talk!!!

the director of SCAN talks about EDI (competitors without actual stock) ..in an interview and customer service from this site from 2008 ?

so why did they wait till 8pm to text me my order won't be delivered tomorrow!!!

thanks.. no seriously.. I've taken a day off to wait in for something that isn't going to arrive.. they have got my money and well , handy for them to get interest off it!!!

so if you lot are gonna talk about EDI.. practice what you preach... you have advertised something and you don't have the stock to match it..

talk is cheap.. my order is not gonna be here and as a bonus I have wasted a day off work..

don't have the stock in stock.. don't advertise it!!

so yer as per interview i'm not impressed.. they aren't the only company to do it, but still 8pm to tell me AND you charge delivery..

don't be so quick to take my money for stuff you haven't got !!!

I too received notification that my order of the i2500K and 4Gb XMS 3 bundle on TO was delayed yesterday evening. Not a massive deal, as it's not urgent, but do you have an ETA for stock and when it might be despatched?

    Thanks

You do realise that the delivery dates given are ESTIMATES and not set in stone, right?

People dont just order online, they also order over the phone and instore so it IS possible for items to go out of stock after you ordered or during your ordering.

    Re: talk the talk!!!

YES it is possible for them to go out of stock.. but if they are gonna put a promotion on they should have the stock to match it (and actually in the building)..

but it is also possible for them to contact me far earlier in the day , so I could be at work instead of wasting a day off. getting a text at 8pm the night before... you think thats "alright" ? ..

I deal with customers myself.. and stuff gets sorted so they aren't messed about AND at least think "ok .. they didn't do the right thing..BUT they managed to fix up and went out of their way to be helpful"... so far nada..

Thats why delivery times are important as I had to take a day off out of my holidays.. lead times of 1+ week are a joke..

also the fact I've paid for goods, and it sits in their bank account gaining interest , actions from them speak louder than words...

    Re: talk the talk!!!

    Thanks for the feedback.

The order placed has been traced for the Today Only bundle offered.... Today Only offer's are created on products, we have in stock in our warehouse and we do hold genuine stock, but it's still possible for stock to deplete.

This particular bundle was extremely popular due to the low price and heavily promoted ( not by SCAN ) through the Hot Deals Website so demand was very high, expected to be high but much higher than expected.

Unfortunately the motherboard ordered was out of stock when your order was placed but the bundle and price is still available and remaining products have been allocated to you.

Whilst we do not actually guarantee next day service for domestic online and telephone orders, this is of course is service we aim at and largely achieve. The carriage you have paid on your order is a standard shipping service charge, mainly comprised of insurance for your parcel, and is not in fact a next day charge. We do of course aim to meet the estimated despatch dates we calculate at the point of ordering and we always have the best of intentions of fulfilling them when we take your order.

We understand that it is very difficult for us to make guarantees for every order we accept. This is why we do not guarantee in the first place.

We do process orders with the utmost urgency and our automated email service is there to keep our customers as well informed as possible through each stage of the ordering process.

We are expecting more stock of the motherboard on the 20 th January, however I maybe able to get hold of a board today for you.......

I will come back to you shortly...

    Regards

I have the GA-P67A-UD3 board to allocate to your order, if you can confirm you will be available to receive the order tomorrow to the same delivery address as already selected. I will send the order out for delivery tomorrow at no extra charge.

    Best Regards

    Re: talk the talk!!!

But as already stated, the delivery dates given are estimates they are not set in stone.

If it was that important that taking time off work was such a big issue, then why did the OP not just request Saturday delivery?

SCAN packing/ dispatch works until 8:00pm as covered in a multitude of other threads, it's just unlucky that they have got to the OP only to realise they don't have stock, they can't predict the future.

But they can allocate stock as funds are cleared. If the stock depletion isnt realised until it comes to packing/dispatch then there is a weakness in Scan's processes!

Anyway, you and I arguing isnt helping OP. We should get out of this thread.

    Fair enough, understood.

But I don't apprecaite someone making assumptions that I am some form of lay about, who does nothing for a living.

    Not really arguing, mor discussing.

This is true to a point, but if multiple orders come in at the same time, in store, over the phone and online then surely this is bound to happen?

    Re: talk the talk!!!

It is really annoying when that happens but I suppose a better way of showing stock would be to actually show the number of units left in the warehouse.

    Re: talk the talk!!!

Chris , thank to whoever I dealt with on the phone.. tell them if you see them. I got my stuff today. They have been helpful

sadly the extra item not in the combo on my order is not as described. I won't say what it is, but if you bring up my order you'll see, what extra item is. ** NO WHERE ** on the item description on your website does it mention it's an upgrade and not the full thing, thankfully I noticed that when it arrived and it's still sealed. That's down to whoever keeps the website updated ..

I will deal with this on Monday.. can't be bothered having my weekend trashed
