Hi there, wondering if someone can help me.
I've just received an RMA rejection for scan by email, with no explanation. Looking at the scan returns web site it appears that they have tested the board, found it faulty and rejected it with the symptom of damaged CPU pins.
I logged the RMA with the symptom of the board working normally unless memory was inserted into channel #1, but I also noticed that the back of the board was covered in some sticky substance, particulally around the memory slots.
I am worried that scan will try and use the damaged pins excuse to reject the board as being my fault for damaging the board? I ought to also point out that I know that I didn't do any damage to the board fitting the chip (I should know asI have a honours degree in microelectronics and computing, am a member of the BCS and IEEE, and worked as a PC development engineer of the production line of a major PC maufacturer for several years).
Does anyone have any advice?
Thanks,
Matthew
