    Problem with returns

    Hi Guys

    can someone help me?

i ordered a GTX 570 graphics card from scan and it arrived yesterday (Friday 12th) and when i checked open the package, it looks to be in used condition with no security seal and also the back of the card (opposite side to cooling fans) the board is sticky with glue like substance on it all over.

i am not willing to put this £250+ card in my pc as i dont want to take the risk.

I rang and emailed Scan for refund on this and the lady on the phone is asking me to post the item at my own expense. i dont think this is fair as its not my fault they sent me a used/dodgy item.

    can anyone help?

    Re: Problem with returns

    Hi,

Having checked with the member of staff I can confirm checks were made to ensure the card you have been sent is brand new from our supplier. Please note that not all boxes are security sealed.

The sticky substance you are referring to is known as flux and appears on motherboards and graphics cards and is designed to protect the PCB.

You are of course entitled to reject the card however as we are satisfied that the card sold is new we would not collect the item.

I will forward RMA details for the return the card.

    Regards
