    Try this:

Start>Run> type 'dxdiag' (without quotes) and run the "Test DirectDraw" and "Test Direct3D" under the Display heading.

Likewise try the tests under the Network heading and any other.

Also check that your spec is correct under the System heading.

Edit: To me something is corrupt, could be drivers or Windows, or the GFX is faulty.

Ran display and sound tests in dxdiag all passed. Spec looks good too.

Tried those beta drivers and played C&C 3 for about 10 minutes and the game locked up.

Have you tried kicking it? That usually helps :-)

But seriously I'm at a loss now.

Your PSU, the Enermax coolergiant, does it have a 24pin atx plug and an 8pin EPS plug for the motherboard?

Seriously, after reading this thread, it really looks like a psu problem to me

Have you tried going back to square one, wipe the hard drive and then take the PC apart and then reassemble it. It could be something silly that you missed the first time that's causing the system instability.

The PSU has a 24 pin ATX connector, it doesn't have the 8pin eps but that hardly matters. The other PSU I tired did have the 8pin eps though and it made no difference.

Why would I want to go back to square one when I have been there about 10+ times already?

GPU is 42C idle and 70C load

Not 100% sure about CPU, BIOS reports 38C idle.

TAT (which records temperatures much higher than any other temperature tool) says CPU is 65C 100% load both cores.

It does have a 4 pin EPS though yes? And that was plugged in?

What was the other PSU that you tried?

Edit: does that coolergiant have a dedicated PCI-E lead, or were you using an adapter?

I also read something about making sure all psu leads (both 20/24 + 4 pin lead) are connected to the motherboard.

I'm not that stupid 4pin motherboard and 24pin motherboard both plugged in no adapters for them. My PSU has a dedicated 6pin PCI-E yes, my old 7800GT had the connection but the new one Scan have given me has a 4pin molex instead for some reason.

reading this thread, it looks like you've been through a bit of hell. But I hardly think anyone's calling you stupid by suggesting stuff that would usually fix most errors.. You've said it yourself, they've given you 3 motherboards, 2 graphics cards.. The next major problem causing thing is the PSU and well, you've tested it and we'll have to assume you know what you're doing, since you're not stupid. You've tried different hdd's. Maybe a different cpu? Or black magic?

Well I previously said I haven't tried another CPU, I don't know anyone with a socket 775 computer
I didn't mean the stupid thing as sort of agressive lol I was just saying I'm not stupid enough, not to plug in a power wire 10+ times of rebuilding the computer

No one was saying you are stupid. You need to stop snapping though, or people are going to lose interest.

Right, if you are 100% sure its not the psu.

Some more (maybe obvious) things to check..

Drivers, including the latest chipset drivers from the intel website, the latest graphics drivers from the nvidia website, the latest lan drivers from gigabyte.

Clean the old drivers with driver cleaner before you install the latest ones.

Try disabling the jmicron controller if you dont have an ide hard drive/dvdr.

Take off the NB heatsink and check it is making contact properly.

Manually set the correct voltage and timings for your ram.

Try the ram in different slots.

Try the ram one stick at a time in all of the slots.

Run memtest on each stick of ram individually.

If you have a sound card, take it out, if you are using on board sound, disable it in the bios.

Try those if you havent already.
