    partial ??/ bah I don't think so.

I will be looking for a full refund.

a.) according to the terms of scan2hexus I should have got free delivery had I not chose ot update to saturday delivery. Which I would have done had I not required the parts on Saturday
b.) they failed to meet the delivery cut off or contact me or scan to explain why or alert the customer

    For me thats full discount.

I'm investigating the delivery terms, I'm not sure if scan have any info on this.

    Down PC8500 lane

This is the 3rd thread on the same subject in the past 3 weeks,so it is safe to assume that other people have had the same problem but dont bother to come on here and tell their story.
If Scan dont like to be criticized then they shouldnt have open forums and closing threads is akin to spitting the dummytit out of the pram.
At the end of the day if people are told that their order will be with them on a saturday then I think they are quite entitled to get peeved after paying for the delivery and for those who think getting it on a tues is a blessing from God then I am sure the next time you have paid for a holiday and you turn up at the checkin desk on a sat to be told sorry City Link airways will deliver you on tues you will no doubt say yeah no problem I order from Scan Im used to it.
Would it not be better to actually try and resolve whatever it is that is causing this issue "Someone needs take ownership of this problem and get it fixed"

Would you rather people just said nothing cancel their order then bad mouth Scan to everyone they knew or is it not better for you to find these problems exist by people venting on here.
The more I read on here the more it looks like you take alot of people for granted..

Do you know how to fix it though? Have you got any idea on what could be done to improve the situation? ALL carrier companies sometimes get it wrong with delivieres, there isn't a single one I know that doesn't have problems at least now and again. It sucks to be the one with the problem but there's no point getting angry, especially not with Scan for this.

guys, re-read the thread. No-one is getting angry at scan. Scan have tried to be helpful but if the delivery site is closed then they can get through no more than I, so there is little they can do.

The problem is that City Link like a good few delivery companies are a franchise not a business in the normal sense. That means anyone with $X ammount of pounds can buy the rights to use the city link name/logo/service and setup running a city link depot. So the one in St Helens for example maybe amazing and never miss a delivery yet the one in Bristol is filled with people with an IQ of 2 who constantly complain how badly paid they are and the hours they do so really couldn't give a stuff about the customer due to them being a.) mostly morons b.) hate the boss who runs the franchise. This isn't Scans issue, Scan's only issue in this is that for what ever reason they chose to use a courier that is a franchise and therefore has issues across the country. While I accept this is not Scans issue, Scan have chosen to use this courier service which therefore makes it very hard for me to continue using Scan due to the appaling delivery service offered by the Bristol City Link branch. I'm sure this maybe the case for other people in City Link black spots.

Sorry I was replying to the later comments that I saw tbh. With regards to franchised carriers, I think just about *all* of them have this issue now. We use Parceline for our company deliveries and they have franchised drivers but own all the depots. Before that we used Businesspost who were entirely franchised and were dire in sorting out customer problems, before that AMC who I have no idea were franchised or not but they managed to "loose" two £1600 key machines.

Ultimately, all carrier companies suck. Let's go back to "please wait 28 days for delivery" and have Scan send a man with a van around!

I have often had to send parcels for delivery on Saturday. I have found City Link to be the worst for Saturday delivery. This is also my experience in receiving parcels on a Saturday from them.

Since Royal Mail now offer a guaranteed Saturday delivery service for only £2 extra on top of the normal price for Special Delivery I now only send items for Saturday delivery by RM and so far have not had a single item failed to be delivered.

Scan cant be blamed for non delivery. They despatched the item on time and on a Saturday service. Yes you should get a refund for the delivery cost. I have always had Saturday delivery costs refunded by other companies when the courier has failed to deliver on the Saturday.

I use the same bristol city link and I have to say I've had very few problems. I think its down to the driver on my route and the sheer number of orders.

They know I order a lot, they know my house very well so they never mess me around

The depot people on the other hand are terrible.

I can't say I'd recommend scan changing to a different courier though as they all have problems, unless you want to pay a fortune for a good one.

Sadly I think city link have one of the better records of the couriers in its price band.

Gordy, your probably spot on but again - not a problem I as a customer should have to deal with time and time again.

I'm not exactly a city Link virgin, I order a couple of deliverys from Scan alone per month and find that about %50 of the deliveriers are either a day late and not carded/explained or come with a missing package out of multiple package delivery. It is down to the driver on the day and how many deliveries they have....however it should not be. I think I have more problems with the City Link Bristol depot as I live in Bath and I just don't think they can be bothered coming over to Bath.

Update, best pack of lies ever.

City Link just told me two different stories while actually on the same phone call, first one the van broke down, the second one was that he was bit by a dog and taken to hospital, yet this incident wasn't reported to the branch so they didn't know.

    total fantasy as usual

Just for your info, Re CityLink and Franchises:

In October 2005, the company announced its intention to buy back and integrate the City Link franchises and now owns 80% of the network (56 franchises); a further 13 franchises will be repurchased during 2007 in order to complete the buy back programme.

This has now been completed and all franchises have reverted back to full ownership by City Link.

City Link named "UK Courier Company of 2007"
Reliability of service and excellent customer satisfaction gains City Link the prestigious title of "UK Courier Company 2007", following an independent review of the industry conducted by the Institute of Transport Management.

City Link named "UK Courier Company of 2007"
that means nothing, if you bare with me for a moment or two, I'll find some tossy award that quotes Overclockers UK as best E-tailer of 2007.

Any one can find a source to give out status like that.
