unfortunatly it comes down to the drivers workload, all it takes is a traffic jam (bank holiday friday) or a few customers do it by the book and insist on the driver waiting while they check the goods and sign as undamaged.
I know a city link driver, and he has to miss at least 1 drop a day due to its location and the good old GPS mapping system not being perfect.

you will get the usual, carded excuse, and your reply wil be "not at my house, they screwed up"

thats enough to get your saturday premium refunded.

I've asked for the lot to be refunded. As I'm sad to say and be harsh here, if a driver does not have enough time in the day to do the deliveries scheduled then they should pay for extra staff or over time for the driver to carry on after his shift.

And see above for the fantasty excuses. Much better than "carded"

ikonia that's a joke, they shouldn't tell blatent lies like that. The bath road was very slow on Saturday so I'd imagine that's why they didn't turn up.

Ironically I was in bath on saturday I could have picked it up on the way through for you

A refund would be a fair result for missing Saturday delivery

Scan are processing a refund at the moment.

Hopefully it should be the full ammount and not just the Saturday premium.

Reliability of service and excellent customer satisfaction gains City Link the prestigious title of "UK Courier Company 2007", following an independent review of the industry conducted by the Institute of Transport Management.

Im sorry wesleyaldred but you are joking right? If they won that then someone awarding them must've been 'in the sack' with them.

The reason companies use CityLink is because they are the CHEAPEST. It has nothing to do wth reliability or service.
Cheap = Poor Service 99/100 times.

I had had 4 quite recent orders.
Order 1 & 2 - Both a day late even though it was at CityLink depot in Cardiff. They say they carded me but didn't so this means they were too lazy too delivery them.
Order 3 - They didn't even bother to attempt to deliver and i had to drive to Cardiff to pick it up for myself.
Order 4 - At last they got it right.

25% success rate is rubbish in most walks of life. If my employees only got it right 25% of the time the would be joining a dole queue very quickly.

I can also understand that different depots perform better or worse than others. In my experience both Bristol and Cardiff are worse than poor.

The sole reason most people accept this poor service from City Link is that we get free delivery from Scan (which is appreciated).
If i was paying for it however, the goods wouldnt be accepted and a refund would be sort after.

    Sorry

I have seen certain PC manufacturers claiming the same kind of thing though and, lets be honest, it really makes you wonder how they manage it......or HOW bad the competition must be in order to achieve it

Actually, they're not the cheapest, in fact it's impossible to call any company the cheapest because they give completely different rates depending on your business makeup.

Not to mention, we can't be 100% sure if Scan are charging us what they are getting charged or if it includes a little padding in case of fuel surcharge changes / packing materials (both I think are fair busines practice btw!!!)

Please can we END the general City Link comments, this has been mentioned numerous times.

Please leave this thread to relate to the issue as originally posted, which is being dealt with by our Customer Service dept directly with the poster.

    Best Regards

update: Scan are processing a full carrage refund to myself at the moment (thank you).

Order is out for delivery today - when I'm not in, however with a little help it should be delivered to a neighbours address (thank you again scan).
