    Question Advice on proposed system

I've been waiting for Scan to stock the Asus P5K-VM mobo, which appears to have arrived now. So here is my proposed system:-

    - Silverstone SST-SG01B-W "Sugo" Evolution SFF case in black WIndowed RoHS (LN17066)
    - Asus P5K-VM (LN19062)
    - Core 2 Duo E6600 (LN15049) + Silverstone NT06 (LN14034)
    - 2GB (2x1GB) CorsairTwinX XMS2, DDR2 PC2-6400 (800) (LN14277)
    - Samsung T166 500GB SATA HD (LN16546)
    - Corsair HX520w Modular PSU (LN15216)
    - EVGA 320MB 8800GTS (LN17577) + Zalman VF900-Cu (LN15806)
    - Lite-ON LH-20A1S-11C LiteOn 20x, SATA, Retail (LN18072)
    - Soundgraph iMON VFD Black (LN17487)
    - Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32Bit 1Pk OEM (DVD) (LN17163)
    - Scan 3XS System - 1year Onsite Warranty (Mainland UK)

After reading reviews on the SG01 case, it appears there is only 1 60mm exhaust fan included, but according to LN17066 there are "Fan Bays: 3 x 80mm" and "Fans: 2 x 80mm". So does this mean there are 2 x 80mm fans included with the case, leaving an optional 80mm fan?

Also, would there be at least 1 spare PCI slot for my tv card?

Any advice on the above proposed system?

    Many thanks
    Scott

Ok the preposed system should be fine the 8800 will fit and regarding the fans we will have to check our stock but whatever option you want for this upon ordering we can sort.

Great stuff, if the SG01 comes with 2 x 80mm fans then I'll leave it as is for now. I might add a Sharkoon or Nockua later myself if needed (cooling benefit versus noise impact). Can you give me a total build price inc. delivery on my proposed system please? PM me if you prefer.

    Thanks for the prompt reply.

I have got the same case, 2 fans are fitted - 1 by the disk drives - very smart! 1 by the expansion cards.
    lessons learnt:
There is only space for 1 more fan (I haven't needed it yet)
The supplied fans are pretty quiet - the disk drive is the loudest noise - I see no benefit in specialist fans
These 80 mm fans - cannot take oversize fans - oops 2 surplus oversize fans (for me)
there is very limited headroom above the cpu max cooler height - 78mm - another error (by me).

the manual also notes there is a constraint on the DVD drive, but I fitted a samsung with no problem - I think a long PSU + a long DVD drive could be problematic.

all in all - it looks good & works well for me...

    Thanks for the info/advice, speardane.

After a final tweak, I have:-
    1) Changed the DVD-RW to the Asus DRW-1814BLT for its SATA connection and
    LightScribe capability.
    2) Dropped the GFX card altogether for now. I'll see what the noise
levels are like without and upgrade at a later date depending on my gaming needs. The onboard G3100 (I think!) should be good enough to handle Windows Vista's Aero interface (?).
    3) Used the cash saved from the previous and changed memory to the more powerful Corsair Dominator PC8500 memory, despite costing £70 more.

    - Silverstone SST-SG01B-W "Sugo" Evolution SFF case in black WIndowed RoHS

    (LN17066) £78.23
    - Asus P5K-VM (LN19062) £85.76
    - Core 2 Duo E6600 (LN15049) £140.99 + Silverstone NT06 (LN14034) £34.65
    - 2Gb (2X1Gb) Corsair TwinX DDR2 XMS2 Dominator, PC8500 (LN15484) £152.57
    - Samsung T166 500GB SATA HD (LN16546) £64.97
    - Corsair HX520w Modular PSU (LN15216) £68.02
    - Asus DRW-1814BLT (LN18060) £22.20
    - Soundgraph iMON VFD Black (LN17487) £52.86
    - Microsoft Windows Vista Ultimate 32Bit 1Pk OEM (DVD) (LN17163) £114.55
    - Scan 3XS System - 1year Onsite Warranty (Mainland UK) (LN1272)
    - Scan System Configuration (LN176)

    Sub-Total = £814.80

I just need compatibility confirmed before I make the order - hopefully later today (woo-hoo!).

    Cheers
    Scott
