Is it me or Scan's website is very slow at times?

It sometimes takes a while to load, or just doesn't load the thumbnails.
It feels like the server takes time to execute the php or that there is not enough bandwidth.
Excuse me for being a nutcracker

I've noticed that if you surf the products on Scan for a prolonged amount of time, the tumbnails would be turned off automatically (which can be enabled again if you type thumb=YES in the adress bar) but it might just be ways of saving bandwidth I guess.

Alright, I did notice the thumb=YES but never saw it set to NO.
    Cheers.

Unless you traceroute it and look at timings for the legs, it's difficult to know where any slowdown is occurring.

Having said that, it was very slow for me the last day or so, including a few timeouts with SQL errors. But generally, I don't have any problems with it.

At the moment, it seems fine here. The only slowdown is the Google Analytics call.

Re: Is it me or Scan's website is very slow at times?

It's always been a slow site to respond, especially when using searches or loading thumbnails.

Hopefully all this extra slowdown is indicating someone's testing a new website on the same server

yeah i've noticed it too, but only when it's loading a couple of hundred items or so. i guess it's to be expected, though its even slower when filtering.....

Let's hope the 8800GT fever will cool down a little!

Scans website is possibly the worst I have ever browsedin my life... completely unintuitive and sometimes crashes on mine and my mates computer. It needs a serious design to make it more navigable, it's a horror to flick around, it really is.

    Richdog

    Thank you for the feedback

Maybe you could expand upon your comments as I would tend to disagree ( but maybe I am biased ). This is a temporary issue and is NOT a regular occurrence - Is it ?

I would have to say your comments a little strong in this case

From our records I can't see this issue being raised before by you or anyone else.

But if you could expand upon the issues you have experienced we will certainly look into this for you to get any issues quickly resolved

    Best Regards

Re: Is it me or Scan's website is very slow at times?

I do get database error sometimes but usualy when my internet connection is busy. I refresh the page and it works again.
Today, the site is slow but to me the pages are quite heavy so it tends to be on the slow side in general.
There is quite a lot of information to display so I would say it is acceptable.
