    Customer reviews

One thing I really think Scan are missing and should have is user reviews on items. A lot of other sites have this and I personally think it helps me make decisions to buys products especially those that you can't find a review on elsewhere.

An example of this is I want to buy a sata hard drive enclosure from a maker that I've never heard of and it would help me to read peoples reviews of the item good and bad to see if it's worth a gamble buying it.

I know this would be a big change but any chance of thinking about it for the future?

it would need to be policed though.
if you look at e.g. newegg there are a) a lot of clueless muppets & b) some of them don't even have the item that they've "reviewed"!

    Re: Customer reviews

Sounds like more hassle than it's worth, tbh. Places like OcUK have reviews of products on their website - but they're all glowing, superlative reviews. I don't think they'd let a review stay up that gave an honest opinion of a crap product. After all, why would any retailer want reviews on their website criticising the products they were selling?!

It'll never be impartial and personally I'm much happier relying on independent review sites to sort the good from the bad.

    Re: Customer reviews

it's a shame as it's put me off buying some products from less known companies. I think that reviews are important as long as someone pointed out that they are policed to give a fair view of the item and give the customer an informed choice.

The caddy I was looking at was LN19019

    Re: Customer reviews

The problem is that filtering out the junk from the intelligent feedback will really be to time consuming to be feasible and systems like this are nearly always abused.

The path of using reputable review sites such as Hexus and linking directly to the review from the product is a much better option and gives the buyer an impartial intelligent review of the product

    Sorry

it looks like a good bit of kit and it's a shame it wasn't sdhc compatible but I would buy an external one and use it in the front USB port.

    Re: Customer reviews

Im not a clueless muppet and I like posting short reviews on overclockers

They moderate and choose which ones to display. i've had like 2 out of 5 submissions displayed lol.

    Re: Customer reviews

I think at the end of the day most people can see through the idiotic reviews and look at the proper ones when making a decision. but the answers no so thats that.

    Re: Customer reviews

Agreed, look at OcUK, all the reviews have to be positive, they police the whole thing.

    I prefer independent reviews too
